Trade the pick Plus kennard

Post#1 » by pistons4ever » Sat May 2, 2020 9:26 pm

My opinion trade our pick ,kennard and snell for the best young guard available.....resign wood and Maker

Sign valentine (he was a late bloomer in college too)

And get somehow Robert Williams

For me he could become the closest thing to Big Ben and has absolutely pistons dna

Perhaps blake to knicks for randle and portis....and send randle to celtics for rob and filler

Rob/maker
Wood/portis
Sekou/Svi
Brown/valentine/Thomas
Xxx /Rose/Bone

In a draft full of guards you wanna trade for a guard when there are no one selling good guards.

If anything, Kennard is the type of player I want to trade for. An under the radar young player who can shoot the ball.

Guys who are 25 and under and shoot at least 37% from 3 while also making at least two per game... Its a short list of just 14 players and Kennard and Svi are both on it.

Christian Wood only made about 1 per game this season, but post Drummond trade he would be on that list too.

Devonte' Graham
Karl-Anthony Towns
Zach LaVine
Jayson Tatum
Luke Kennard
Jaren Jackson Jr.
Lonzo Ball
Brandon Ingram
Kevin Huerter
Landry Shamet
Jaylen Brown
Tyler Herro
Svi Mykhailiuk
Furkan Korkmaz

That's exactly what I want guys 25 and younger than can shoot the ball from outside at an efficient rate. That's going to give us a chance to be in a lot of games while we also are developing young guys.

I don't know who we'd get for our pick, Luke and Snell.

That's a lot to give up for 1 unnamed guard.

I'm willing to trade Luke but that's more due to his injury and his rookie deal ending soon than anything else

Furken Korkmaz is 22 years old...and a UFA as well.

I'd be looking his way whenever free agency takes place.

Would rather not, i do like the idea of grabbing Williams though. Hes my center in 2K  and turning into a mini Ben Wallace.

-Traded Kennard for Robert Williams and 26
-Drafted Edwards at #2 and Tyler Bey at #26

I'm not particularly sold on Luke or anything, but really the last thing you want to do at the start of a rebuild is to trade picks and young players for someone who is already established.

I wouldn't be opposed to trading Luke. There are some very intriguing prospects in this draft. It would be awesome to somehow add another top eight pick. I'm excited to learn where we are going to fall in the order.

Signing FVV screams desperation to me.

I don't want to see any moves that are "competitive".

I'd much rather:

Draft Okoro at #5.
Trade Luke to Phoenix for #10 - select Vassell.

Take chances on Giles, Jackson & Korkmaz in free agency. Retain Wood. Bring back Henson. Upgrade Hall & Bone

Wood, Giles, Henson
Griffin, Sekou, Hall
Okoro, Jackson, Snell
Vassell, Korkmaz, Svi
Brown, Rose, Bone

That's a lot of young guns that may or may not develop into something more

Maker is gone... Someone who wants to try to land The Greek Freak next summer is going to sign Maker to a two year slightly overpaid deal. After Maker was traded Giannis said that "this one hurts" and that Maker was like a "brother" to him so I think it could very well end up being a strategic FA signing the same way the Lakers overpaid KCP to get access to Lebron's agent.

Not sure what the FA status is of Giannis' actual brothers.

Not a fan of the trade or resigning Maker. Nice call on Williams, though.

This thread screams of off-season doldrums / boredom.

I think the original idea of trading Luke and our pick prior to next season is just bad. You're going to get very little value for Luke because he hasn't shown to be healthy yet. This draft is known to be weak as well; so I just don't see you getting positive value in return.

Oh, and we really don't want to be at all competitive this coming year. We want to be bottom of the barrel and first in line for the gold mine that is the 2021 draft.

1) Do not resign THON MAKER

2) Don't trade Luke K and the pick, it isn't worth it unless we are getting the #1 pick - Edwards, all the rest I don't think the order matters that much, not to send out Kennard, if it is Kennard straight up for an additional lottery pick that I could probably see, but not using Kennard and Snell's expiring and the pick to move up for a player that might not be all that much better.

i honestly wouldn't mind bringing thon back for one more year yea hes p***** us off during most of his time here but he had been playing better post drummond trade and still has potential with the ability to shoot 3s and block shots at times.
