Re: Fantasy Trade Thread 2019-2020 Post Season
Something has to change next season voor phi, and as much i would like to have Hield or Booker in starting five, i doubt how realistic this is, because of high asking price.
Phi will want to get rid of Horford, and although Harris is quite ok, his contract not that much, a solution would be nice.
Below some trades i think are more realistic and can give a better team next season.
Horford+Korkmaz and 2020 2nd rounder atl (and maybe also phi 2020 2nd rounder or LA 2020 2nd rounder) for H. Barnes and Bjelica.
Probably also a future pick has to be included.
T. Harris+Z. Smith for C. Paul (OKC get cap relief, fringe star in Harris, and maybe prospect in Smith).
2020-2021:
Paul/Milton/Shayok
SImmons/Thybulle (RIchardson)/pick, free agent vet min, or MLE
Richardson (Barnes/Thybulle), Robinson III (?), pick, free agent vet min
Bjelica/Barnes/Scott
Embiid, Pelle, MLE/free agent vet min
Probably MLE can best be used for solid back up for Embiid (Len, Baynes, maybe even T. Thompson in bad market).

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread 2019-2020 Post Season
Some other trades that crossed my mind:
J. Richardson + …../Pick for S. DInwiddie (dont think Brooklyn interested)
T. Harris for T. Rosier and C. Zeller (help on PG position, back up Embiid and charlotte get a fringe star, probably cha no)
J. Richardson for S. Curry and Marjanovic (wow that 3 point %, help for Dallas defense in Jrich)
T. Harris and Z. SMith for Portis, Bullock, Ntikilina and D. SMith/Ellington (not ideal, but phi gets rid of longterm contract Harris, NYK get a fringe star and former 1 rnd pick, maybe phi flips some players in 3 team deal or halfway season for other player or pick, you never know what kind of strange deals NYK accepts).
Richardson+.... for D. Schroder
T. Harris+ J. Rich (maybe pick) for CJ Mccollum and Ariza (dont think portland accepts, but if so, why not!?
What do you all think about 2020-2021 team i suggested and trades?

I wouldn't give up any draft capitol for Harrison Barnes. Only way I'd want him if he was a salary dump in a trade for De'Aaron Fox.

Of the proposed trade targets you suggested, I think Dinwiddie and McCollum are the most appealing.
Getting an all-level scorer that can be our go-to option in the halfcourt is basically the only thing that I value.

Kobblehead wrote:No way is Jrue a better defender than Thybulle. The appeal in Jrue is that he packages being a good defender with being able to pass, make shots and score a little bit. The all-around effect. Not that he's a particularly special defender. He's just a good one (like a PG version of Jimmy Butler, defensively). Matisse is a truly elite defender.
Thybulle is nice, but still undisciplined and not well rounded enough to be on the court in the guts of the game.
Jrue is worlds ahead in terms of being dependable while having that ability to elevate his game when it matters. It hardly gets talked about, but he straight up put Lillard in a box for a full series a couple years ago.

Agreed. Those are the only ones I've have legit interest in. Brings in an actual backcourt scorer.

What if we included Zhaire (no Shayok) in the McCollum deal and Scott in the Hield + Barnes deal to make salaries work? Since we're taking on Barnes's contract, I don't think we'd need to add much to Horford + Richardson. I'd prefer Bjelica to Barnes, but we'd have to add more to acquire him IMO.
Simmons(24)/Milton(16)/McCollum(8)
McCollum(24)/Hield(24)
Hield(8)/Thybulle(24)/Korkmaz(16)
Barnes(28)/Simmons(10)/OKC 1st(10)
Embiid(30)/MLE(18)
Pick up the best available defensive C with the MLE (i.e. Dwight Howard?) and the BPA defensive forward with the OKC pick. Minimize combos including any two of CJ/Hield/Korkmaz. It might be prudent to trade Korkmaz and keep Zhaire?

I still don't see Portland entertaining a CJ /Harris swap unless we attach Thybulle or a first. I'm not convinced Zhaire has much value at this juncture.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread 2019-2020 Post Season
If I was Portland, I'd keep C.J. and move Dame as fast as I could. They basically only have 1 year to move him until he becomes one of the biggest albatrosses in the NBA.
2021: 30 years old, $31.6m
2022: 31 years old, $43.7m
2023: 32 years old, $47.2m
2024: 33 years old, $50.7m
2025: 34 years old, $54.2m
It makes sense for us to sellout for a championship with Dame/Joel at the peak of their powers. Just be ready for a long rebuild afterwards.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread 2019-2020 Post Season
If I'm Portland, I think you have to at least consider a Tobias/JRich offer for CJ. Diversifies their scoring a bit and gets them a defender to put next to Dame in the backcourt. That said, has there been any real world indication that they'd move him? Seems like him and Dame are really tight (and both seem happy with their situation), and they did give him that huge extension less than a year ago. They are coming off an awful season, but my guess would be that they just chalk that up to injury and continue to re-tool around those 2 and Nurkic. They've go some flexibility this summer to add pieces. Cap space if they renounce guys and a late lottery pick they could potentially move.
I think Hield and CP3 are the most likely to be available of our frequently mentioned targets. Hield doesn't seem happy coming off the bench, and they'll be in a salary crunch with guys coming off rookie deals. CP3's season has flipped the perception on that contract from unmoveable to potentially being able to actually get something back for him. As great as their season has been, I definitely think you sell high and move to a proper rebuild with SGA in fold.
Jrue is an interesting one to look at. There's a lot of smoke there, but then you also get the reports that come out after that they have no intention of moving him. Still, he can opt out of his deal after next year, and he'll be 31. Do they really want to commit a big, longterm deal to him with how young Zion and Ingram are? Something to consider from our end as well considering his injury history, particularly with Elton's contract negotiating.
LaVine is worth watching with new management, but who knows?

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread 2019-2020 Post Season
As usual, I maintain that the Sixers are spinning their wheels so long as we have no backup five who can hold down the defense when Joel Embiid is on the bench. So I would not trade Al Horford without a plan in place to address that position. To wit, I would not trade Al Horford for Buddy Hield unless Harry Giles also comes with it. Which I believe is possible. Because the Kings are not retaining Giles anyway. Sign and trade! Al Horford makes 27.5 next year, which means we can bring back 35m in trade. The Kings (on behalf of the Sixers) can re-sign Giles for up to $10m and package him with Buddy Hield (24m) for Al Horford (27.5m).
Al Horford <=> Buddy Hield & Harry Giles.

Even with the Sixers limited cap resources I don't think backup center is a tough position to address, particularly if the bar you are setting is Harry Giles (who I can't imagine will be getting 10M from anyone). I also can't imagine the Kings would be the ones adding to such a swap... though they do still have Vlade.

Not sure Harry Giles is a guy you can count on to anchor the defense in playoff games when Embiid sits.
- He's not an elite defensive talent
- He has very little basketball experience
- His durability is bad
Dedmon, sure. But that contract makes him an undesirable asset to acquire.

Hield will be attainable this summer IMO. The more important question is if LaVine will be. He has two years left on his deal. If they don’t think he’s a franchise player and/or worth a max, then they may decide to move on from him.

After this, Buddy himself liked tweets/comments about him being traded. He's not going to remain content as a backup to Bogdonavic. I don't know what his trade value is, but it is Vlade.

I'm really out of the loop, I guess. Hield would be a great fit, especially if we could get a point guard.

Josh Richardson ($10.8m)
for
Mikal Bridges ($4.3m)
Ty Jerome ($3.3m)
Frank Kaminsky ($5m)
Mikal is a way better version of what we hoped Josh could be. Ty can defend the point of attack and has creating, shooting and passing upside. Kaminsky can be waived.

I am a Portland fan and there is nothing on Phillys roster we would accept in trade for Lillard.
Could see a deal involving CJ and Harris but would want Thybulle as well. No interest in Smith.
Tough to find a deal that works for both teams, as both are trying to find the combination of health and talent to compete for a championship.
Tougher still to speculate with all the fallout from Coronavirus impacting the draft, the salary cap and next season.
