Netherlands had also stated that soccer is done for the season.
Soccer is the sport that will dictate what will happen with the entire sports industry since it's the most profitable and popular.
If soccer is done for the season all over europe, no other sport will be played.
If i had to put my money on an option, i would bet that sports are done until fall(at least).
I don't know what will happen in US.

I know this is beside the point, but even though soccer is by far the most popular sport in the world, North American sports leagues are actually a lot better at generating revenue (more advertising, more revenue per ad, larger stadiums, more merchandizing, bigger TV contracts, larger and wealthier domestic audiences, etc) and being profitable (ie, they generate a lot more revenue than they pay out to players, stadium fees, etc) than soccer leagues. The EPL is the only pro sports league that generates as much revenue as the NHL and NBA, and even then its revenues are just completely dwarfed by the NFL, even if you account for tournament play like champions league. All of which is to say that there's a lot more money on the line for the NBA than for French and Dutch soccer, even though that seems counterintuitive considering basketball is a less popular sport than soccer. None of which would justify putting people's health at risk.

People in Netherlands don't watch NFL or NBA.
So for them, soccer dictates everything. That was my point.

.....And Salomon Kalou just did this. Oh boy.

Ah ok, if you're just saying that other domestic European sports leagues will follow the examples of the domestic soccer leagues, I agree 100%.

2 things:

1. Jaylen Brown is lucky he signed his deal when he did. That salary cap is going to be much lower next season.
2. My heart weeps for Jayson Tatum. We need to hook him up with a contract that he is worthy of. But if that cap is lowered due to 40% loss of revenues, he might be paid lower than what Jaylen is getting.

I was wondering what they were going to do with that.
Well, looks like they're going to give some remainder of the season a go.

If games return without fans what do people think of fake fan noise? As dumb as it sounds I think it is actually a good idea. It would make the games seem more normal if they don't over do it. One thing I think they would want to do is have a base line of white noise so it is not as obvious they are playing in an empty stadium.

Will networks use fake crowd noise for games without fans?

If/when sports return without fans in the stands, one of the most fascinating dynamics will come from having the ability to hear the chatter among players. Unless we won’t.

As explained by David Barron of the Houston Chronicle, via Sports Business Daily, former FOX Sports chairman David Hill believes that networks may consider using fake crowd noise for games without fans — and possibly piping noise into stadiums and arenas. (The Falcons possibly have a patent pending.)

“I don’t see why not,” Hill said of the possibility. “As for the purists who would say, ‘How dare they?’, every sitcom you’ve seen over the last 25 years has had a laugh track. The public is used to it. Did people not watch Seinfeld because there was a laugh track?”

Tatum could sign a one year deal and then become a free agent again when revenues bounce back.

Hell, Gordon Hayward probably even opts into that final year.

Our luxury tax is going to be brutal since we will be way over that. Let's hope the union and owners agree to some cap smoothing.
