Andy Dalton. Now back up for the Cowboys. I know Cooper Rush is not what we want for a back up, but Dalton, please. Unless I'm missing something.

Go ahead and laugh. First time we've had a decent back QB in over seven years if not longer. Since Romo was first starting to get hurt we have been starving for one. And we got a great price.

I don’t think Dalton is as bad as you guys seem to think he is. His first 4 seasons when he had a good OL, a good defense, and weapons in offense he performed well. His first 4 seasons are very similar to Dak’s first 4 seasons. Since then the notoriously cheap Bengals let all of his help leave through free agency. Throw in AJ Green’s, and Tyler Eifert’s health it’s easy to see why Dalton has been bad lately.

No one is expecting Dalton to come in and be Tom Brady and take Dak’s job. All he has to do it win games in case Dak misses any time this season. With the Cowboys elite OL and stacked offense Dalton is more than capable of stepping in and winning a few games. For $3M that’s not bad for a quality backup QB. I’m much more confident in Dalton than I am Cooper Rush.

dalton is the type of backup qb you want, someone with a lot of starting experience and you stand a fighting chance (or better) if he has to come in
