My concern with Clarke is probably his shooting. I'm not completely convinced that jumper is going to yield 75+% FT or 32+% 3FG. Askew, OTOH, has a great looking stroke. Our main issue next year will definitely be shooting because we will be able to attack the rim at will.

I've talked about him before, but I feel pretty good about Knight being at least a small ball center in this league. He seems to have a pretty decent BBIQ, is a willing 3 point shooter (30% on 3 per game; 77% FT), decent passer, and very good rebounder. Doesn't jump out of the building. He looks very comfortable dribbling the ball in the perimeter. I won't confuse him with Giannis, but he looks better than most big men on the perimeter.
If he's a legit 6'10 and doesn't bomb the athletic testing, I could see him be a second rounder.

Kobble, what's your stance on Elijah Hughes? I brought him up a few times over the past few months, but I'm still all over the place with him. Not many shots at the rim, but seems to be a good finisher when he does. Gets to the line quite a bit which makes me believe he's great at drawing fouls. Good mid range shooter. 80% FT. Pulls up from anywhere. Very athletic. 1.8 STL% but a 3 BLK%. 20 AST% with a 12 TO%.

Something about his game keeps me at arm's length.
He's got some qualities that I admire: help defense, mid-range creation off the dribble, occasional nice passing
I really dislike how infrequently he gets to the rim and how it's almost always a backdoor cut when he does, though.
Probably going to be a 32-34% three point shooter that only puts the ball on the deck to attack closeouts (given his lack of slashing ability). And probably be more of a team defender than someone that can guard his man at the point of attack.
I see an NBA player, just not sure an NBA player that I'd want. So I'm kinda in the same boat as you, I guess.

If the Blue Coats can fix jump shots, I'd definitely look at adding Udoka Azubuike to the squad. Might be able to give Embiid some looks later in the season during practice.

I hope we get our hands on Jon Teske as Embiid's backup before our Eastern Conference rivals gets him as an Embiid counter.
Massive human being at 7'1" 265. Fantastic feet and defensive ability (rivals Steven Adams in this regard).

Yesterday got 7' Olivier Sarr, transfer from Wake Forest who has serious shooting profile for a center: 76% FT, 40% 2FG jumpers, 66% at the rim (would like to see this higher). Had a bit of a breakout this year scoring 13ppg.
Recently got a commitment from one of the better finishers at the rim in DeAndre Williams from Evansville: 83% at the rim, 49% 2FG jumper, 45% 3FG, 80% FT. Goofy looking shot and obviously against bad competition, but he fits the mold of a SF/PF in Calipari's offense. Gets to the rim, draws fouls.
Then you have the usual blue chip, five star freshmen: BJ Boston, Terrence Clarke, Devin Askew, Isaiah Jackson, Lance Ware
The blend of upperclassmen and freshmen should make for a great season.
Askew isn't good, Clarke as a major creator is going to sink badly, Sarr could be eligible but not guaranteed and Williams possibly happens but same, we will see about eligibility
UK is a top10 team with that, but I don't think they are at the top, nobody is touching Gonzaga really

#20:
Josh Green
Devin Vassell
#34 and #36:
Tre Jones
Devon Dotson
Paul Reed
Skylar Mays
Tres Tinkle
Homerun scenario for me if we land any 3 of those guys at those picks.

Aren't we at #22?
If so, I'd probably trade up to get Patrick Williams at the moment. Then with whatever we didn't trade in the second, draft either Saben Lee, Myles Powell, or Markus Howard. Leaning hard on Saben Lee though.

I don't hate any of these guys, but I'd probably only be excited with us walking away with Vassell, Dotson, and Tinkle.
I probably have to do more Tre Jones evaluating at this point. Josh Green concerns me in the first round.

Tre Jones won me over by grading really strongly in each of the quadfecta of traits (creating, defense, passing, shooting). All while being a pretty poised player and a great kid. Him possessing marginal length and athleticism might cap his ceiling, but I think his floor is just so damn high. Just seems like such a useful, winning basketball player.

Re: 2019-2020 College BBall/2020 NBA Draft Vol 1
I was late to come around on Josh Green, but the more I watch, the better I feel about him. The only thing I dislike is his lack of creating ability. I think his shooting form is fantastic. I think his defense is fantastic. I think he's got a great NBA body on the wing. I think his passing is surprisingly solid. I'm really impressed that the 13th ranked recruit in the nation was willing to take such a team-friendly role as a freshman. I think that speaks loudly of his priorities and how ready he is to contribute to a winning culture.
I think of all the freshman in the country, only Okongwu and Green could be dropped into this year's playoffs and play big minutes at a respectable degree and help a winning situation.

Also, I really love when players take individual matchups seriously and try to dissect an opponent.
De'Aaron Fox dissecting Lonzo Ball was amazing to watch.
I felt a little of that watching Tre Jones destroy Cole Anthony twice this season.

you seem to be putting a lot of weight into a healthy guy on a superior team winning match-ups against a universally higher ranked player who was on a bad team and coming off of in-season surgery

I think Patrick Williams could provide us actual minutes as a sub for Harris. I feel like our focus should be to defend Giannis, Kawhi, LeBron and he fits that fluidity, length, and defensive awareness while not really sacrificing a 3&D ability. If you give him one job, he could have been a good fit for us this year with potential long term expansion of skills.

It's just an anecdote.
Besides, I don't care that Cole Anthony is more talented and highly ranked than Tre Jones. Jones is way more well-rounded as a prospect and embodies many winning player qualities. Anthony's game is almost exclusively off-dribble scoring and embodies a lot of losing qualities (bad defense, bad efficiency and percentages, mediocre passing).

Williams' skillset is definitely in the mold of an early contributor. My cause for pause with him is his lack of experience. No collegiate starts and only 22.5 mpg of action. In this made up fantasy scenario of dropping freshman into the NBA playoffs, he might be a little too inexperienced.

Jahmi'us Ramsey might fit the mold. Seems ready to be a nice cog in a team defense. Not sure how NBA-ready his jumper is, given his free throw shooting. Unless he shot 90% from the line in AAU play (lol).
