Victor Oladipo contributed 18 points and 9 assists as the Nets held serve at home and will now travel North of the border with a 2-0 series lead. Toronto was at a severe disadvantage playing with an obviously beat up LeBron James, who played with a sore shoulder, and was only able to play 15 minutes and score 10 points in the loss.

Portland leads series 1-0

Spoiler:
The Portland Trailblazers went off script in winning game one on the road against the higher seeded Utah Jazz. Jeff Green scored 20, DJ Augustin scored 18 off the bench and Irving scored 16 in a game Portland led throughout. The Golden State Warriors and their league leading offense was on full display on Thursday night in a convincing game two victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. The leagues most potent offense showed up early scoring 79 first half points as the Warriors held a 23 point lead at halftime against the overmatched eighth seeded Clippers. Golden State was led once again by LaMarcus Aldridge and his 28 points but it was the bench and depth of the Warriors that proved to much for the Clippers on this night. Lou Williams (22 points) and Domantas Sabonis (20 points) led a Golden State bench that outscored LA's bench by a 67-47 mark. The Clippers head home for a game three, late Saturday, where they hope to have more success against the Warriors and their second best league road record. The Warriors have not trailed at any point in either of the first two games of the series.

Veteran point guard Mike Conley, acquired from the Chicago Bulls in the midseason Kemba Walker blockbuster, again led the Nuggets in scoring in a game Denver never trailed. Andre Drummond (20 points, 18 rebounds, 4 blocked shots) also continued his inspired play, by dominating Oklahoma City center Dewayne Dedmon (5 points/5 rebounds). The only good news for the Thunder was the fact that Damian Lillard appeared to be closer to 100% after playing the past week with a sore lower leg. The leagues top team, the Golden State Warriors, beat the Los Angeles Clippers 122-118 in game five of the Western Conference Quarterfinals and have advanced to the second round of the BaF playoffs. The Warriors got a game high 26 points off the bench from Lou Williams, picking up the slack left by superstar Russell Westbrook, who struggled throughout scoring just 6 points on 2-13 shooting before fouling out early in the fourth quarter. The Clippers entered the fourth quarter trailing 90-80 but fought back to take the lead with under three minutes to play after a three pointer from Markieff Morris put them ahead 116-115. Golden State didn't fold though and showed the depth that made them the leagues top team. With Westbrook on the bench, it was Gary Harris' three pointer on the next possession that gave the Warriors back the lead 118-116, a lead they would not relinquish over the games final two minutes. After Harris' shot, Jusuf Nurkic missed a potential game tying 12 footer and Williams closed the game out at the foul line for the Warriors. Khris Middleton led the Clippers with 26 points in the loss. The Clippers enter the offseason with plenty of cap space after making their first ever playoff appearance. Golden State awaits the winner of the Utah/Portland series in the second round.

Spoiler:

Spoiler:
Indiana wins series 4-2

Spoiler:
The Indiana Pacers completed the upset over the higher seeded Miami Heat winning 128-121, in game six, at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Wednesday night. Indiana was led once again by Donovan Mitchell, who scored 35 points to go with 9 assists in the game. After a back and forth battle all night the game finally reached the fourth quarter, tied 87-87. Miami took a brief lead early in the fourth after a Jamal Murray basket put them ahead 91-89 two minutes in. But that was the last lead the Heat would have as Indiana rattled off a 7-0 run, led by Mitchell and Karl-Anthony Towns, to put them ahead 96-91 with just over 7 minutes to play. The final minutes consisted off both teams trading baskets but not enough stops for a Miami team who finished twelfth in the league in defense during the regular season. James Harden's three pointer with two minutes remaining pulled them with one at 120-119 but a Zion Williamson follow up dunk of a Mitchell miss extended the lead back to three. On the next Miami possession, Harden missed a potential game tying three pointer and an Indiana bucket from Towns on the ensuing possession put the Pacers ahead by 5 and all but sealed the victory. Free throws would close it out for the Pacers who will now play the top seeded Chicago Bulls in the second round beginning some time this weekend.

Towns scored 29 points and had 15 rebounds, series breakout star Luka Doncic had 23 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and rookie Williamson added 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Pacers. Harden, the leagues leading scorer both in the regular season and the playoffs, scored 45 points in a losing effort for Miami. He also added 9 assists, 7 rebounds, 4 blocks and 3 steals in a heroic effort for the Heat. Harden finished the playoffs averaging 46.0 points per game in the six game series. Tobias Harris and Murray contributed 20 points a piece for Miami.

Denver wins series 4-2

Spoiler:
The Denver Nuggets beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 110-106 to advance to the second round of the Western Conference playoffs. A wild game finished off a strange series which saw the road team win the final three games. The Nuggets jumped on the home team early jumping out to a 35-25 lead after one quarter thanks to a hot start from Kelly Oubre, who scored 8 of his 14 points in the first quarter. But the momentum began to turn in the second quarter when the Thunder's Damian Lillard (38 points) began to heat up. Lillard helped Oklahoma City cut the Denver lead to eight, 52-44, as the teams went to the locker room. Lillard and the Thunder blitzed the normally sound defensive Nuggets in the third quarter. Lillard continued applying the pressure scoring 15 third quarter points and trying to keep the Thunder's season alive. OKC outscored the #2 seed by 18 points in the third quarter and took a 80-70 lead into the final quarter. After the Thunder scored the first five points of the fourth extending their lead to a game high 15, and with Denver facing the possibility of being forced into a game seven, they got a lift from an unlikely source. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope took over for Denver scoring seven straight points in a 1:24 stretch to stem the tide and help get the Nuggets quickly back into the game. Both Jordan Clarkson (18 points) and Elfrid Payton (15 points) made big baskets off of the bench for the Nuggets during a huge 40-21 run over the games final 10 minutes. Andre Drummond was a dominant force throughout the series and continued his solid play with 14 points and 22 rebounds in the game. Denver moves on to play the defending champion Dallas Mavericks in the second round.

Spoiler:
Portland wins series 4-2

Spoiler:
The Portland Trailblazers are moving onto the second round of the playoffs after defeating the Utah Jazz 125-118 on Thursday night. The game seemed more like a heavyweight fight in the first half as both teams seemed to be feeling each other out and traded blows throughout. But neither team held an advantage after the games first 24 minutes and the game went to the half tied at 53 apiece. The third quarter saw the visiting Jazz catch fire, led by young superstar point guard D'Angelo Russell. Russell led a huge 23-6 run to begin the third quarter by scoring 17 of his team high 45 points in the opening six minutes after the break. With Utah leading 76-59 and looking to bring the series back to Utah for a deciding game seven, Portland turned to their superstar duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Irving and Durant scored 47 and 38 points respectively including 17 of the next 20 points for Portland as the Trailblazers cut the Jazz lead to 90-81 entering the fourth quarter. The momentum continued for Trailblazers to begin the fourth as they scored the first six points cutting the Utah lead down to three. The final eight minutes saw 10 lead changes as neither team could knock out the other. The final lead change came with 2:32 remaining when Kevin Durant hit a three pointer to give Portland a 118-116 lead. With the win, Portland will advance to take on the leagues top team, the Golden State Warriors.
