Great show, season 3 not happening is a tragedy

I want to get into harvesting some seeds but not ready to get my feet wet just yet. Seriously thought about getting some seeds in the past few months. Trying to limit myself to more purposeful purchases in these times of need, film camera and new art supplies have bn calling me from afar tho

Everywhere I go people wear masks. Is this how it’s gonna be in the years ahead, even after COVID goes away?

Yes.

Doesn't Japan, and among other asian countries wear masks routinely anyway? Just so you can spot out people with a cold/flu etc.. It'll just be in the norm in the west now.

I doubt it. It's very uncomfortable to wear a mask correctly from my personal experience. I keep touching it repositioning it and making it basically useless. I think people will be more aware of how germs spread. If you shake someone's hands, then proceed to eat your taco with that hand, you will most likely get some kind of 5 trillion germs that are on humans. I will keep washing my hands, sanitize them if I don't have access to water before touching my face, that sort of thing we can keep doing and will help us stay healthier long term. Maybe doctors will make less money after COVID goes away.

I think my average hand washing time has gone down from 15 seconds to 6-7 seconds since the peak shutdown days though. My hands got so dry and why am I washing my hands 25 times a day when I didn't even go outside Lifer?

Many Japanese people wear masks because a lot of them suffer from bad allergies. And we care about others well-being more I suppose. With that said, very few Japanese wear masks correctly. And they're in the smack middle of national lockdown now smh

I'd say 85% of people here in North America wear masks in one of the following ways. And they take them out to talk, eat, do whatever and put them back on. ALL WRONG if you think logically about how they are supposed to be keeping viruses away from your nose and mouth.

I washed my hands more than “normal” before COVID and now I wash my hands less than “normal” after COVID, despite washing my hands a lot. I didn’t wear a mask before COVID and I continue to not wear a mask. It’s about consistency.

I really don't believe this goodboy. I was born and raised in the U.S. but my family are all immigrants. The people here love to socialize, talk to strangers, spend time with one another. Things like minding your own business, keeping your distance, and not socializing are just antithetical to the culture imo.

I'm in Florida and you should see how many people are out on the sidewalks running, biking, spending time with their families and neighbors from a distance. People are dying for contact. I don't think a world exists where people in the U.S. just accept this status quo regardless of what happens.

As crazy as it is, I've seen men who still want to shakes hands amidst all of this.

I think Florida is an exception. Didnt you guys wanted to be your own country/separate from u.s or something @ some point lol.
Places like NY and other major cities, D.C may have to adapt to those kind of outcomes. I could only see states like Florida and Texas not giving a chit and going about their business.

I've been mostly impressed with people's ability to get used to wearing masks so quickly here, but the people who don't want to wear one out of spite or for personal freedomz really annoy me

Good to hear I annoy you.

I read the article below in the early stages of the virus and I am sticking to it in terms of why I’m opposed to most people wearing masks. Masks may be doing more harm than good.

In a lab study, sure properly trained individuals who use clean masks and don’t need to readjust the mask reduce the chances of spreading the virus if infected. But as Iggie noted, people are not wearing them properly and you gotta touch the mask a lot to readjust. This highly reduces any gained outcome of wearing a mask. Plus, the water droplets that accumulate on a non-medical mask from breathing make it MORE likely for someone to get infected.

Not wearing a mask isn’t about protesting for me. It’s using the freedoms of this country to determine what is in the best interest of my health. Government mask policies are using a draconian measure to achieve an outcome with very little analysis done to understand if the desired outcome is aided by the measure. Give people a choice.
