Biggest loss is the Lakers.
If they win now in this quarantine season, the championship will have its asterisk.
Next season? Bron is already 36.

Help me with this.
When was the last time a center was the best player on a championship team?
2014? kawhi won finals MVP.
2008? KG is a PF.
2007 when Duncan played center?

If the center is good enough, a team with the center as the best player can always win a championship

I think we’d consider steph as our generation’s jordan and bron as our Larry Bird.
Thats a big IF though..

That's why they should withhold the Larry O'Brien trophy and just handout a newly created Cup. They just have to convince the players that it's worthy coming back and doing the playoffs for it.

I think that's a debate between Kobe Bryant and Dwayne Wade.
And of the guys still playing, Kawhi Leonard leads that race (elite defender, closer, two Finals MVPs).

But it has to be shaq level dominantly good.
Been watching a lot of old playoff games with this lockdown. Wings and PF really dominated the championship landscape of the league.

Steph is just 31.
It’s basically MJ doing his hiatus with the Bulls at this stage. Warriors were smart to do a tank job at this stage.
Now Steph’s got the next 3 years to win 3 championship (just as Mj’s 32 to 35 age) and he has all the things falling into place. Starting with the likely number 1 pick and this season pretty much a waste.
When the warriors will be back, nobody will be at their level.

Nobody is going to respect Steph at that level though. He hasn't even won a Finals MVP yet. Even if he stacks a ton of titles, he'll just be thought of as the Bob Cousy of this era.
He lacks the physical dominance and elite defense to be remembered as an era's Jordan.
Also, I think Durant is this era's Larry Bird.
LeBron is like the Wilt of the era. Most physically gifted athlete that lacked the killer's mentality to truly conquer all foes.

The Warriors' salary situation is pretty bleak. Also, there are a lot of landmines at the top of the draft. They could easily take the wrong guy and age out of playing at a high level. I don't think it's a guarantee that they rebound back into contention.

Teams like NY, LA or GS, doesnt have that much issue with the cap they also have more power with the cap than us. They can sign a guy like Al for a lot less value, just for who they are.
I think Steph, Klay, Draymond, their top pick, Wiggins, Chriss and just the magic of their franchise can maneuver their squad into a contender. I think Chriss will eventually replace Draymond. He’s a pleasant surprise
I just feel like the game will trend towards valuing skillset, stats and IQ over athleticism at some point that they will at some point put Curry at the pedestal. The eventual 6 rings would also really cement his place.
LAL should be on the downhill from this point. It’s just between them and the Clips at this point.

Davis-lead Lakers
Williamson-lead Pelicans
Doncic-lead Mavericks
All way more optimistic than a Wiggins-lead Warriors team with a bunch of aging champions, IMO. Again, I gotta see who they draft.

Wiggins isnt going to lead them.
It’s Steph, Klay and their likely top pick.

Re: Around the League - 2019-2020
I don't see the timing working out.
Steph and Klay will age out of high level play before that teenage draft pick is ready to be a significant part of a contending team. And again, they could take a bust for all we know.
Not sure why you're so convinced that they are going to have a second dynasty. I think the odds are very much against that. They probably should have held onto Dlo and looked to package him with their lotto pick for a piece able to help them out now. Then maybe they'd have a brief encore of contention. As it stands now, I think that window may have closed.

They will trade that top pick. For sure.
They will have their run because of their talent and how their game is favorable with the trend that they dont need much talent to move much.
I can see then doing the late 2014 run of the spurs.
It will also be interesting to see what they can get with that top pick.
The problem i see is they need a wing and there is just a scarcity of star caliber wing in the league

I think I figured out what's going to happen.
Golden State is going to package Wiggins and the top pick for...Pascal Siakam!
Toronto gets their hometown hero Andrew Wiggins and a top pick for their eventual rebuild. It will be a parting gift to the organization from Ujiri as he takes a new job (Knicks).
Siakam is probably one of the better trade targets for the Warriors. He fits them pretty well. He's a huge F that has a varied offensive game that includes catch-and-shoot, passing, iso-scoring. He's a pretty solid help defender that fits well into team concepts. Coachable, demonstrates rapid development in his game, experienced in winning. I think he's everything they'd want.

Re: Around the League - 2019-2020
Masai Ujiri, Bobby Webster, and Dan Tolzman would never agree to something like that. For a multitude of reasons.
For one, and part of the beauty of being managed by a front-office of this quality is that the "eventual rebuild" is already here. Siakam just turned 26 and is locked up long-term. Anunoby turns 23 in July. VanVleet turned 26 in February. Powell turns 27 in two weeks. And Terence Davis II turns 23 next Saturday.
2nd, the Raptors have not focused on poaching high draft-picks, but on developing diamonds in the rough.
3rd, insofar as what a hometown hero may be, Siakam is already closer to that for Torontonians and Canadians than Wiggins is likely ever going to be.

Sounds too good with a lot of legs IMO.
Wiseman and Wiggins should be a great building block for the Raps.
