My next breakdown will be on RJ Hampton. Here’s two minutes of his at the rim finishing.

Was going over some tape on Hinton and...

College is wild.

Anyways, really high on Hinton. Reminds me of Josh Hart, only a little bigger but doesn't shoot as well. Think he projects to be a similar defender.

Another reason to draft Tillman earlier than later in the 2nd. Watch from 1:50 to 2:10. Slips the P&R and explodes to the basket really quick. And then does some damage out in transition. Few bigs in the league today can do that.

Here's Tillman using his off hand to drive from the perimeter and finish. (3:00-3:10).

Tillman, trailing in transition, pulls up for nice-form 3 (3:45-3:55).

Tillman sets up on the block and finishes off his opponent with the vaunted spin cycle hook shot (4:20-4:35).

Positions himself to be available pass and puts the big man in the spin cycle for the easy layup w/ his off-hand (5:20-end).

Fun fact on Joel Ayayi:

Collected 17.8% of opponents’ misses when he was on the floor this past season, with only LaMelo Ball posting a better defensive rebounding percentage among the players ranked on ESPN’s top 10

mike gribanov's (the stepien) board

Board so far
1. Onyeka Okongwu
2. Tyrese Haliburton
3. Anthony Edwards
4. Tyrese Maxey
5. Aaron Nesmith
6. Xavier Tillman
7. Precious Achiuwa
8. Grant Riller
9. Aaron Henry
10. Chris Smith
11. Ayo Dosunmu
12. Cassius Winston
13. Immanuel Quickley
14. Nate Hinton
15. Sam Merrill
16. Ashton Hagans
17. Payton Pritchard

Obviously very incomplete. Surprised he has Haliburton and Okongwu over Edwards.

It feels they always have to go the "i'm super smart" route. The hell is doing Precious at 7? If you are going to go "this freshman are always overhyped, they tend to be out of league, better draft future solid players" at least stick with it.
Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

lol that's not Mike's board, he is just ranking the guys he has covered so far, he will eventually rank +100 and that'd change completely, that's really not worth anything

It's interesting that Minnesota had 2 really tough schedules in back to back years, posting an 11.55 SOS this year and an 11.27 this year. It's interesting because that lines up with Oturu's FR and SO years. Might have to look at him again.

RJ Hampton will hopefully be what Dante Exum was supposed to be

He's less cerebral than Exum right now, but he's shiftier and has a tighter handle.

Part of the reason their schedule rates so tough is due to the amount of travel they have to do as a WC team in Minnesota. It affects their rest sometimes.

He is nothing like Exum, other than skin colour and size

Watch that video and tell me again how he is nothing like Exum. Skin tone and size helps, but those drives and handles look exactly like Exum's. Like almost a carbon copy

Not talking about that video alone of course but come one, how can you say he is NOTHING like Exum?

Exum had struggles with pull-ups and shooting and that's kind of a plus for Hampton, who is more herky-jerky and less based on blazing speed, which was Exum's top treat (also longer and stronger, Hampton's frame/body sucks kinda)

Dunno, I don't see the similarities, also Exum had obvious defensive upside whereas Hampton... yikes

just my opinion but i think exum's development would have been much better if he stayed overseas.

Hampton's body ain't well built, high hips, bad balance, slender, narrow lower body, average upper body
