Re: 2020 NBA Draft II
his high hips are what allows him to get low with his dribble without losing velocity, it's why he's such a smooth runner, can run/turn on a dime with little wasted motions or movements
and his frame overall is no worse than the guy you have #1 on your board.

i like but don't love Obi
but yes, that's part of what allows him to be really good with the ball at his size.

Is it, though? His numbers don't bear that out and some of his misses were really bad. Hampton's path to success seems to be predicated on developing into a decent enough shooting threat that allows him to use his speed to break down defenses. If he can do that consistently, I trust him to make enough good decisions and finish well enough to be a plus on offense.

He was a lot better at pull-ups and shooting in HS. Didn't really show up all that well in NBL for whatever reason.

I think his mid-range pull-up is impressive for his age yeah, not sure about numbers but those are not great efficient shots anyway generally
As far as finishing, I don't buy that all that much really

You don't buy his finishing? Whatttt? Why not? He's 6'5 with a 6'9 wingspan and a strong frame. He shouldn't have any issue finishing as he can use his left or right hand comfortably and is more than capable of completing reverse layups, playing through contact, IMO.

He def does not have a strong frame, he shies away from contact and his craft is subpar to me

I'll agree to disagree. His frame is nice and he may not be flashy, but he's functional and hard to stay in front of and has shown enough to make me think he can be a competent, really an above average, rim finisher, at the least.
...
As anyone feeling like they are higher on Crutcher than most? I know I am.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft II
Why is Joel Ayayi not getting more love? I just don't understand it.
9 games against top 50 teams:
40% on 3s
2.2 STL%
57.4 TS%
16.6 DR%
1.6 AST/TO
118 ORtg
88 FT%
other key stats/notes (for entire season)
66.3% at the rim (only 33% assisted) on 104 attempts
60% on 2s
low-usage (~18%)
shot 34.5% on 3s for season but form looks good
2020 was pretty much equivalent to his freshman year (logged 128 minutes as redshirt frosh)
6'5
6'7-6'8 w/s
180 (needs to add weight)
if he adds weight he can guard 1s and 2s and pretty much improve in a lot of other areas as well...

Re: 2020 NBA Draft II
What does Darius Days look like if he becomes a 36% 3-pt shooter at the next level? PJ Tucker? Royce O'Neale?
6'6 with a near 7' wingspan and good athleticism.

Really impressive stuff on defensive side of the ball by Dosunmu. Reminds me of Pat Bev.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft II
This draft class will be more like 2009 than people think. 2009 was considered a weak draft class after Blake Griffin.
Many teams were skeptical of Steph potential. Teams weren't sure Harden style of play would lead to wins when he is probably one of the greatest WAR players in this modern generation.
I think this class especially at the top is much stronger than assumed. Just more of a long term class than short term class. I been saying this for many months but the best PG class since 2009. Even the undrafted can hoop.

Polish. Needs time to develop.

Agreed. But if he's having this kind of impact already (better than every PG but Haliburton), imagine what he looks like when he is a finished product.

2009 is a good comp.
It's certainly a difficult draft in terms of separating prospects at the top. I think people are really underselling the kind of prospect Wiseman is as well as Edwards. Ball and Hayes could go either way, IMO. Anthony too. Avdija is really the only guy in consideration for top 5 that I believe will undoubtedly get much better and could have the best career out of everyone. Edwards and Wiseman have some bust potential just like most top picks do, but these guys are just too talented and too athletic to pass up.

Ehh, I think better than every PG but Haliburton is a stretch. Winston/Pritchard/Flynn were all having great seasons.
I bought a boat.
