I agree with just taking the high upside though regardless of the risk at 28. Massai had shown he can get complementary/needed talent late in the 2nd or even undrafted

I think it is good if someone higher is available, but it is less likely it is a tier above on this draft, which is the problem of this year draft. Next year would be much better though, and even bottom of the 1st round may able to distinguish BPA.

Who are drop candidates?

Saddiq Bey, Josh Green, Maldeon, Carey, Precious Achiuwa?

Based on the tiers.
And currently without measurement and workout, it is hard to specify a candidate, as the rank might change rapidly with measurement alone.

Well like I said before if the combine doesn't happen and everything is virtual it could affect some players that teams a unsure about gambling on without seeing first hand.
I'd agree with those names and add McDaniels, and possibly patrick Williams

Although I think we are too far at the end of the first round for this situation to really happen. Teams 20-25 got that advantage

Hey everybody,

Draft Comparison Tool: https://nbadraftcomp.herokuapp.com

I'm the guy that created the NBA Draft Comparison Tool. I just wanted to let you know that I just added age as a method of comparison for NBA prospects essentially meaning that people of similar age are more likely to be compared to each other.

For example:

Also, if you guys have any feedback, please do leave it here: https://nbadraftcomp.herokuapp.com/feedback or dm me on Twitter: @youngwizzydfs

Cool page and good content, but needs work on presentation.
-I'd suggest you list the top 100 prospects for ppl to click their name to see a comparison without having to type in their name.
-ability to sort on columns
- ability within same page to switch what the comparison is (so you dont have to keep switching the page and selecting the player again)
- overall format of each page (fields shouldn't go from edge to edge of page)
- ultimately you need to always think what can you do to make the experience easier for the user and more enjoyable

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2891177-2020-nba-draft-big-board-scouting-pros-and-cons-for-top-50-players

Candidate for #58 / Undrafted

#42 Saben Lee https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/saben-lee-1.html

Candidates for #28

Cool that they have Achiuwa, McDaniels and Tillman all available after #28.

#29 Theo Maledon

#18 Skylar Mays? https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/skylar-mays-1.html

He's a new name I haven't seen. Out of LSU. Bigger Deron Williams? Good size to pair as a PG with FVV.

8.7 rebounds per game. :o 6'6 with 6'9 wingspan is good enough for SF.

I looked at Chris Smith, who is interesting, but I feel he has his brother JR Smith mentality, where I don't see him make any passes (passing is his last resort, rather jump into 3 defenders, than hesitate for half a second, and pass it out to someone open). Otherwise, he looks to be rather good on the wing.

Not good enough to be a SF as we are seeing more 7'+ wingspan SF.

His measurement seems to be similar to Jimmy Bulter.

I had this guy on my radar for a while and he has numbers because the whole offense was built around him.

Really nice Pascal type footwork on his drives, but I am not sure he is a team guy. He could easily be one of those tunnel vision g-leaguers that drive you nuts forcing up bad shots.

I really like Kellan Grady as a second round pick.

Here's a young cat that has caught my attention. Introducing the #1 junior college baller, Jay Scrubb out of John A Logan Junior College.
Would be the first Juco player selected in 17 years. He was supposed to go for Louisville next year, but he could very well end up getting drafted.

Game highlights:

I'm quite intrigued tbh.
Another experimental, low-risk/high-reward, player like Karim Mane for the Raps to consider.

Hollinger was on the Chad Ford podcast and he was going on and on about Paul Reed being mocked 30-40 spots too low, going so far as to say he is lottery pick worthy. This is his write up from the Athletic about sleeper picks.
Spoiler:
12. Paul Reed, PF, DePaul
Some of you have heard me extoll Reed’s virtues already, but for those who haven’t: My hottest take on the 2020 class is that Reed is the most undervalued player in the draft, hiding in plain sight as a young junior mired on a brutal DePaul team. I still wonder if I have him too low here.

A long-limbed 4 who moves well laterally, flashes tremendous hands, and has great instincts, Reed can guard 1 through 5 and has All-Defense potential. He’s a rim protector too, a quick leaper who can block shots, and he’s an outstanding rebounder for his size – which may allow him to play 5 as his body fills out. Statistically, Reed had the highest steal rate of any player in my top 60, guards included, and had the highest block rate of any non-center.

Offensively, he books in transition and gets easy buckets that way, but the halfcourt will be a work in progress. He has a high handle and an awkward shooting release, although he seems comfortable shooting off the dribble. He’s athletic enough to finish plays at the rim as a roller, but the decision-making can be suboptimal. He’s pretty quick off the bounce, however, and one wonders if he can attack the rim with more space.

Overall, Reed may be a negative on offense if the shot doesn’t come around, but his college numbers weren’t tragic: 33.0 percent career from 3 and 77.0 percent from the line. Additionally, Reed scores as much from “random” offense — cuts, put-backs, fake DHOs, etc. — as anyone you’ll see, and that could be an offensive lifeline.

For me Reed projects as a high-value role player, a guy who could be a team’s best defender and productively play a secondary role on offense. I’m really interested to see where he lands in the draft, because most projections have him buried in the late second round. If that really happens, he’s an absolute steal.

I am not a fan of Reed's but Hollinger worked for the Grizzlies helping with analytics for the draft so I respect him.

The only thing that kills me about Reed is his personality. He seems to mumble so I don't know if he is shy or uncomfortable.

Read on Twitter

Anyways, I think he might be on the Raps' radar as he is high from the analytics side and a defense first pick.

Reed has really good defensive instincts.

I think Reed can fix his shot like Powell. :D

I've been saying this since Paul Reed's name was brought into this thread. The kid is mocked ridiculously low and won't be available past 20 barring unforeseen circumstances.
