G/F 6'6 CJ Elleby (Washington State) Most Underrated Draft Prospect
The perfect Raptors draft pick at #28 (if he's still on the board). CJ Elleby now has 15 Zoom meetings with NBA teams scheduled (already completed 8 and one was with Raptors). By comparison, Elleby had seven workouts during this same period last season. A lot of people have him scouted as a second round pick but I see him sliding into the middle to end of the first round after teams get to know him better. I just anticipate him going at #28...time will tell.

He’s really a Jordan Crawford type of player where he takes a ton of questionable shots and makes some questionable shots and is a human microwave. On the right team there’s room for someone like that
He can be a very solid depth player to develop in the right system like Toronto's. Needs to improve defensively but he has all the tools needed to be a very solid NBA defender. Played in a tough basketball conference and excelled. Raptors need depth players that can score, created their own shots and he can do that.

Is Payton Pritchard, Lowry 2.0?

Candidate for #58 / Undrafted
#42 Saben Lee https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/saben-lee-1.html
Candidates for #28
Cool that they have Achiuwa, McDaniels and Tillman all available after #28.
#29 Theo Maledon
#18 Skylar Mays? https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/skylar-mays-1.html
He's a new name I haven't seen. Out of LSU. Bigger Deron Williams? Good size to pair as a PG with FVV.
Top 50 is so weird when the draft is 60 people lol just add 10 more.
But this is really the first I've seen anything about Mays, I don't really take anything from BR that serious but for them to have him that high is very shocking so maybe there's something I'm missing

He's nothing like Lowry. I like him, but he's more of a Reddick/Thomas type of guy.

He's not like them. He's more like FVV the more I think about it. Might be a bit faster.

Definitely not quicker than VanVleet.
VanVleet has a DBPM at 4 in college, while Pritchard is 1 at the same age, so their defensive impact is a big margin.
As for passing, VanVleet has a ass/usage ratio at 1.66, while Pritchard is more a SG with 1.12
Pritchard is a Reddick/Thomas type of guy, pretty much a SG, not a PG. VanVleet strength are elite defense and low turnover with way more assists.

Re: Raps 2020 Picks (Prospect Watch, Update: Vecenie Mock Released)
My top three likely picks for Toronto are based on guys I think that have the highest likelihood of being a starter in about a year, and should be rotation worthy right away.
a. Grant Riller - would be a lottery pick due to his scoring ability, good PG size, but age holds him back. The only hesitation I have is this guy like to play at home, didn't go to big Div 1 schoool in order to stay in Orlando area. Not sure how this guy would adapt to being away in another country.
b. Paul Reed - easily in the same class as Okoro as the best defender in the class. Toronto's development program will iron out the shot. Looks like a SF/PF hybrid type.
c. Nico Mannion - Seems like projections have him in range for Toronto. He had mixed year where he won a tournament MVP, then got hurt and struggled, but he still showed flashes to at least be a back-up PG. I honestly see him as a perfect fit on a Toronto team that plays fast and shares the ball. His shot was spotty this season, but he was the number one ranked PG in 2019 coming in, so you think he will iron out the shot selection and just get a bit stronger, which are the primary reasons his shooting numbers were inefficient.
The guys ahead of these three that I think are very unlikely to hit Toronto's spot: Kyra Lewis Jr. and Patrick Williams. Either Lewis or Williams are no brainer picks to me.

Not sold on Mannion. He seems like he played with too many good players. Things should've been easier. Outside of the pick & roll he doesn't have the quickness to get into the lane well. He's like Jose Calderon that doesn't shoot as well.
I like Reed and would take Patrick Williams over Lewis because we could use a big. Is Lewis like Avery Bradley 2.0? No need for him with TDII.

Paul Reed reminds me a lot of Richaun Holmes from his college days
Their college numbers are pretty similar too, but I believe Reed has more potential given his defensive upside.

There are for sure questions about Mannion but he seems toolsy with his runners. He has game to score from anywhere but he has to pick his spots better. I agree he should have been better with those players but he was playing well until he got injured in early December. Curious if it was a lingering thing with his back.
Lewis reminds me of Delon Wright. He really is quick with the ball and is a brilliant transition player. He has good defensive potential but I think Lewis will be more of an impact guy on the ball. Bradley became more of an offball spot up scorer over time.

I wouldn't say ''much more'' but regardless Reed makes up for it with his longer wingspan & standing reach.

I think Reed is more of a perimeter guy than Richaun is whos a pretty good 5 these days.
Riller i like, not really a fan of Mannion though. I think theres better gaurds in the class and especially on the Raptors i think his struggle of getting to the rim would be a poor fit offensively

I don't expect us to draft any point guard with the 28th pick but that's just me

Well Richaun is more of a P&R/slasher. Reed has just as much post-up game as Richaun. Reed can also run the break; so versatile.

Agreed. There are a lot of PG's and maybe they push some of the bigs down to us at #28.
That or can pickup a just as qualified prospect at guard at #58.
