President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

I’m not a political strategist but I doubt that a smart play is to turn the election into a referendum on Obama because Trump loses every time.

I don’t care if people get offended by the post but I’ll point out two things.

These people would fit right in with the people screaming at black people for daring to sit at white lunch counters in the 50’s and 60’s.

Also the fact that they have children there also repeating this behavior is **** scary. This is Nazi behavior. Find an enemy to blame for a real problem, swallow propaganda from dear leader and attack anyone that disagrees. Not even going to mention that these idiotic people are exposing themselves and children to Coronavirus by not wearing masks or social distancing.

Well, they're morons in their own special ways. Weird thing is - the guy taking the video is doing what they should want him to do - covering them. He obviously doesn't have anything to do with the virus situation or getting back to work. They're effectively changing the subject from what they came out there for. They came to protest the closing of the economy, but they're changing the discussion to the media. I mean... how stupid is that?

And guess what. They’ll paint themselves out to be the victims by the unfair media. I actually respect their right to protest even if I think it’s for a moronic reason, but if they’re going to protest they should be wearing masks and staying 6 feet apart.

Disagree. He did that last time and won. The trick is that his base understood while fringy Democrats decided to buy his bogus anti-Hillary sales pitch rather than stay in reality.

Another day in the Theater of the Beyond Absurd:
“How can a creep like this show up to work tomorrow & report to @SecAzar, his boss, after trashing him on T.V.?” Trump tweeted, tagging Azar.

Bright responded to Trump’s earlier criticisms of him on “60 Minutes,” saying he was not a disgruntled employee but instead was “frustrated at a lack of leadership.”

“I am frustrated at a lack of urgency to get a head start on developing lifesaving tools for Americans. I’m frustrated at our inability to be heard as scientists,” he said. “Those things frustrate me.”

Every single day, Soprano says/does something that - all by itself - would be reason enough for him not to be president. And even if he didn't, his lack of leadership and effort would be enough. Before he became President, all of what he's done and hasn't done would be unbelievable. It's unimaginable that anyone could be more of a national disgrace than he's been. And he's only getting worse with experience.

Personally, I welcome this strategy. :)

Thinking you are both right. It worked last time and it will work again - with his base.

But it won't work in suppressing voter enthusiasm on the other side... attack Obama and more Ds come out to vote. Fringy Ds love Obama.

It depends a bit. I think it stokes enthusiasm to defend Obama but how many are going to consider voting Biden the same thing as defending Obama. It's calculated and may or may not work but I think it's still better than hating on Trump himself. Right now seems more like feelers. People will forget. I think te anti-Obama stuff comes out regardless but much more extremely whem things haven't recovered in the fall and Trump needs diversions. What takes down Trump is people voting against him and his team seems like they're aware of that.

Personal opinion: ALOT
