The defending BaF champion Dallas Mavericks are peaking at the right time and putting the rest of the league on notice.
Dallas won their sixth consecutive postseason game on Sunday afternoon defeating the #2 seed Denver Nuggets 112-90 and taking a 2-0 lead in their best of seven matchup. The Mavs are now a perfect 6-0 in the postseason as they were led to victory once again by the balance they have throughout their lineup. Jrue Holiday once again led the team in scoring with 23 points, but Dallas also got good games from Bradley Beal (22 points) and Jonas Valanciunas (20 points). Giannis Antetokounmpo had another solid all around game scoring 12 points to go with 9 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocked shots. Dallas scored the first bucket of the game on their first possession and Denver never even got the game even the rest of the way in the lopsided victory. Andre Drummond again was the best player in a Nugget uniform as he scored 20 points, had 12 rebounds and 7 blocked shots. But Drummond is not getting enough help from Mike Conley (0 points in 17 minutes) who is being severely outplayed by Holliday in the first two games of the series. Chicago leads series 2-1

Spoiler:
Donovan Mitchell scored 30 points and Karl-Anthony Towns scored 27 to lead the Indiana Pacers to a 119-109 victory over the top seed Chicago Bulls in game three of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Monday evening. With Indiana in danger of falling behind 3-0 in the series, game three was as close to a must win as a team will find. And Indiana was up to the challenge after a evenly played first half which saw Chicago lead 53-52 at the break. In the second half, Mitchell and Towns took over scoring 40 of Indiana's 67 second half points. Towns also had 10 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 blocked shots and 3 steals in the win. Rookie Zion Williamson scored 18 points and Luka Doncic added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the Pacers. Philadelphia 134 Brooklyn 130 OT
Spoiler:

Spoiler:
Philadelphia leads series 2-1

Spoiler:
The Philadelphia 76ers used a balanced effort to beat the Brooklyn Nets 134-130 in an overtime thriller on Monday evening to take a two games to one lead over the defending Eastern Conference champions. In an incredibly well played and even game that featured 40 lead changes and 20 ties it was the home team who came out on top despite heroics from Caris LeVert and Joel Embiid. LeVert sunk two free throws with under a second left in regulation after being fouled with .5 seconds to play and Brooklyn trailing 120-118. LeVert received a pass from Victor Oladipo, took two dribbles and was fouled on an eight foot jumper that just missed, rimming out, but putting LeVert at the line to tie the score and send the game to overtime. Embiid scored 49 points and had 18 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 blocked shots and 2 steals (after his game two a triple double) but it wasn't enough to overcome the Philadelphia balance. Nikola Mirotic led the 76ers with 24 points while John Collins scored 23. Lonzo Ball had 21, Myles Turner had 19 and CJ McCollum added 17 for Philly. It was a Collins' three pointer in the extra session that finally put Philadelphia ahead to stay giving the 76ers a 131-130 lead with under a minute to play. After a Brooklyn miss, free throws from McCollum would seal the win. Brooklyn will look to even up the series tomorrow in game four in Philadelphia.

Portland 124 Golden State 111
Spoiler:

Spoiler:
Golden State leads series 2-1

Spoiler:
Kevin Durant exploded for 52 points, including a 21-21 performance from the free throw line, as the Portland Trailblazers won a crucial game three, 124-111 over the Golden State Warriors. With the Trailblazers trailing 2-0 in the series, Durant decided to put his team on his shoulders, as he outscored the entire Warrior starting lineup by a 52-43 margin. Kyrie Irving (29 points) badly outplayed Russell Westbrook who was held to just 9 points on 1-7 shooting. Westbrook did not play with the same level of aggression as he attempted just seven shots all game, although he did contribute 17 assists. But the night would belong to Durant and the Blazers, who led by one at halftime before breaking the game open in the second half. Portland had a nine minute stretch which bridged the third and fourth quarters where they outscored Golden State 33-17. 31 of the points during this game deciding run were scored by Durant and Irving. Marvin Bagley III, moved to the bench for the first time this series, scored 19 points and also had 10 rebounds. Domantas Sabonis came off the bench to score 20 points to lead Golden State. A critical game four will be played tomorrow night.

The defending champions are now a perfect seven for seven in the postseason. Jrue Holiday scored 28 points and Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 23 for the Mavericks. Dallas led 73-72 after three quarters before Holiday began to heat up. He scored the final quarters first five points to help extend the Dallas lead to six, a lead which Denver could not overcome. The Nuggets Mike Conley scored 23 points and had 10 assists, before fouling out in the games final minutes, in what was his best game of the series. Dallas will go for their second consecutive series sweep tomorrow night.

Donovan Mitchell scored a game high 32 points to lead the Pacers to the win. Karl-Anthony Towns scored 24 points and Rudy Gay added 22 points off of the bench for the Pacers who have rebounded after losing the first two games of the series by nearly 25 points per game. The Pacers never jumped out to an early lead and never trailed in the contest. Kemba Walker and Montrezl Harrell each scored 24 points for the Bulls. Spoiler:
Series tied 2-2

Spoiler:
The Brooklyn Nets evened up their series at two with a 114-96 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday evening at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. In a game where Philadelphia held superstar Joel Embiid relatively in check (22 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists), it was the Brooklyn defense that was the difference. The 76ers were held to just 18% (4-18) from beyond the arc as well as suffering a poor night from the free throw line, 50% (10-20). Victor Oladipo led all scorers with 28 points and Kenneth Faried chipped in 22 points for the Nets. Brooklyn led 59-47 at the half and never led by fewer than ten points in the second half. CJ McCollum led the 76ers with 23 points. The series will now move back to Brooklyn tomorrow night for a pivotal game five.

Portland 122 Golden State 104

Spoiler:
Series tied 2-2

Spoiler:
Kevin Durant was once again the best player on the court as he scored 35 points and added 11 rebounds as the Trailblazers blew out the regular seasons best team, the Golden State Warriors, 122-104 on Tuesday night. Portland exploded for 72 points in the first half as they opened up a huge 18 point halftime lead. Kyrie Irving score 21 points and JaVale McGee scored a postseason high 16 points for Portland who have now won both games at home and turned this series into a best of three. LaMarcus Aldridge and Lou Williams each scored 22 points for Golden State in a losing effort. Russell Westbrook was severely outplayed once again by Irving. In the two games in Golden State, Westbrook averaged 31.5 points per game on 57% shooting. But in Portland, the superstar guard has been held to just 7.0 points per game on just 13% from the floor (only two made field goals in two games).
Golden State hopes they get the Westbrook from the first two games of the series as the series now shifts back to California for a huge game five.

Dallas 119 Denver 99
Spoiler:

Spoiler:
Dallas wins series 4-0

Spoiler:
Make it eight in a row for the Dallas Mavericks. The defending champion Mavs look like a team ready to repeat after back to back sweeps to begin the Western Conference playoffs. First the Mavericks took care of business against the sixth seeded Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round. Now after a dominant 119-99 win on Tuesday, they have swept away the second seeded Denver Nuggets. Giannis Antetokounmpo had his first postseason triple double this year scoring 16 points to go with 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Denver brought the energy early jumping ahead of Dallas 34-26 after a quarter. But it didn't take long for the Mavs to erase that deficit. Dallas opened the second quarter on a 17-7 run to take a 53-51 lead and ended the quarter outscoring Denver 39-23 to flip the eight point deficit to an eight point lead. Bradley Beal led Dallas with 27 points, midseason acquisition Jonas Valanciunas scored 24 and Jrue Holiday added 19. Mike Conley scored 27 points and had 9 assists for the Nuggets. Dallas advances to the Western Conference Finals for the third consecutive season and will now have some time off as they await the winner of the Golden State-Portland series.

Chicago 108 Indiana 102
Spoiler:

Spoiler:
Chicago leads series 3-2

Spoiler:
Home court advantage continued to prove vital as the Chicago Bulls took a 3-2 series lead over the Indiana Pacers winning 108-102 in the United Center on Wednesday evening. Kawhi Leonard led Chicago, scoring 23 points and the Bulls got solid contributions from their bench as George Hill, Montrezl Harrell and Terrence Ross each scored 12 points. The Chicago bench outscored the Indiana bench 43-27 in the game. Indiana led 79-75 entering the fourth quarter but Chicago erased that deficit immediately as Kemba Walker (17 points) started the quarter with two straight three pointers. Walker had been 0-5 from three up to that point but those two threes put the Bulls on top and energized a seemingly nervous crowd. Teams traded baskets on the next few possessions before Chicago finally pulled away thanks to some timely hoops from Leonard and Harrell. Donovan Mitchell scored 27 points to lead Indiana. Karl-Anthony Towns added 19 points and 12 rebounds. Game six will be played tomorrow evening back in Indiana.

Philadelphia 114 Brooklyn 111

Spoiler:
Philadelphia leads series 3-2

Spoiler:
A huge third quarter propelled the Philadelphia 76ers to victory on Wednesday night at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn. The 76ers defeated the Nets 114-111 in the pivotal game five. Philadelphia trailed 56-45 going into halftime but outscored Brooklyn 39-20 in the decisive third quarter to an eleven point deficit into an eight point lead. The difference in the game was in the backcourt as the Sixer duo of Lonzo Ball (27 points/11 assists) and CJ McCollum (24 points/6 rebounds) badly outplayed the Net backcourt of Ben Simmons and Victor Oladipo, who scored just 22 points combined. John Collins scored 18 points for Philadelphia in just 22 minutes as he and frontcourt mate Myles Turner (6 points) played the entire game in foul trouble due to the suddenly unguardable Joel Embiid. Embiid did everything in his power to keep the Nets in the game, scoring 50 points to go with 14 rebounds but it wasn't enough for Brooklyn. Philadelphia will head home looking to close out the defending Eastern Conference champions tomorrow night in game six.

Golden State 127 Portland 119

Spoiler:
Golden State leads series 3-2

Spoiler:
The Golden State Warriors, the leagues top team, showed something on Wednesday evening as they rallied from a five point halftime deficit to defeat a tough Portland Trailblazer team. The Trailblazers played 24 minutes of beautiful offensive basketball, taking a 72-67 lead into the locker room. The Trailblazers blistered the nets in the first half led by superstars Kyrie Irving (30 points) and Kevin Durant (22 points) They also got unlikely contributions from Jeff Green (19 points) and Marvin Bagley III (17 points off the bench) and after the first 24 minutes, the team with the best record in the league was reeling. But the second half was controlled by the Warriors as Lou Williams caught fire in the third quarter scoring 13 of his game high 31 points in the quarter to help shift momentum. Golden State entered the final quarter ahead 97-96 thanks in large part to Williams hot shooting. In the fourth quarter it was LaMarcus Aldridge who took over. Aldridge scored 27 points in the game including six in a row at one point midway through the fourth quarter giving Golden State some breathing room. Steven Adams scored a playoff career high 28 points to help pick up the slack for a slumping Russell Westbrook (12 points on 3-11 shooting). Portland will return home tomorrow for game six to try and extend the series.

Indiana 106 Chicago 101
Spoiler:

Spoiler:
Series tied 3-3

Spoiler:
The Indiana Pacers beat the Chicago Bulls 106-101 in game six on Thursday night and with the win have pushed the Eastern Conference's top seed to the brink of elimination. Karl-Anthony Towns led the way for the Pacers scoring 29 points while also contributing 12 rebounds and 4 blocked shots. The home team won the first five games of this best of seven series and after the first 36 minutes of game six, it seemed like that trend would easily continue. The Pacers led 83-69 through three and seemed to be on their way to an easy game six win. But nothing is easy when you play the Bulls. In the fourth quarter, Kawhi Leonard began to heat up. He scored 13 of his team high 27 in the final quarter and his 17 foot jumper cut the Indiana lead to just one with 1:36 remaining. But on the next possession, it was Donovan Mitchell driving and finding a wide open Luka Doncic beyond the arc.
Doncic hit the three ball and Indiana's lead was back up to four, 105-101 with just over a minute to play. A Leonard miss on the next possession and a Mitchell free throw would give the Pacers the victory. Mitchell scored 23 points and Doncic scored 17 points to go with 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Indiana. Game seven will be tomorrow night in Chicago.

Brooklyn 134 Philadelphia 126
Spoiler:

Spoiler:
Series tied 3-3

Spoiler:
Trailing in the series three games to two and with their season on the line in a win or go home game six, the Brooklyn Nets needed to get superstar performances from their superstars not named Joel Embiid. Embiid has carried the Nets throughout the playoffs averaging 36 points and 12 rebounds a game to this point. And Thursday's game six was no exception for the big man. Embiid was his usual dominant self scoring 31 points to go with 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 blocked shots in the game. But as good as Embiid has been, he hasn't had the help from teammate superstars Victor Oladipo and especially Ben Simmons. Tonight, Embiid got the help he needed and Brooklyn has survived to play another day. Simmons had his best game of the postseason scoring 30 points to go with 8 assists before fouling out midway through the fourth quarter. Philadelphia trailed by nine points entering the final quarter but soon cut the Brooklyn lead to just four thanks to John Collins (27 points), Myles Turner and CJ McCollum (20 points each). With 5:45 remaining, Philly and their home crowd had the momentum. That is, until a crucial driving layup from Simmons in which he drew a foul and converted the old-fashioned three point play to quell the momentum and quiet the crowd. The lead was back to seven and Philly would get no closer thanks to a couple of clutch baskets from Oladipo (22 points) and Caris LeVert (13 points off the bench). Game seven will be played tomorrow night back in Brooklyn, to decide a series where the home team has won just twice.

Spoiler:
Series tied 3-3

Spoiler:
The Portland Trailblazer's Kevin Durant is putting on a show in their best of seven Western Conference semifinal matchup with the leagues top team, the Golden State Warriors. Durant scored 42 points and had 7 rebounds, 4 blocked shots, 3 assists and 3 steals in an impressive overall performance to help the Trailblazers beat the Warriors 111-102 and force a game seven. The Trailblazers were trailing 82-79 entering the fourth quarter and soon found themselves down by 7 with nine minutes to play in their season. But Durant and Kyrie Irving (26 points) led them back scoring nine consecutive points over the next three minutes and giving Portland an 88-86 lead with six minutes left. The teams traded baskets for the next few minutes in a stretch which saw six lead changes on six consecutive possessions. But it was again Durant who put the Blazers ahead for good with 3:06 remaining. He hit a long three pointer to give Portland a 100-98 lead and propel Portland on a game ending 14-4 run. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 24 points for the Warriors but they once again got a disappointing performance from superstar point guard, Russell Westbrook. Westbrook scored just nine points, on 3-13 shooting, in the game. He is now scoring just seven points per game on 20% shooting over the last five games. Lou Williams also struggled in this one scoring just 8 points in the game. The series now will head back to Golden State for a decisive game seven.

The Chicago Bulls survived a scare in game seven against the young Indiana Pacers winning 114-103 on Friday night. The Pacers led by four 62-58 at the half as Chicago found themselves unable to stop Karl-Anthony Towns (25 points) or Luka Doncic (23 points) in the first half. The Pacers then proceeded to roar out of the locker room beginning the half on a 17-4 run and leading by as many as 17 points, 79-62, with eight minutes to play in the third quarter. But then something changed for Chicago. The top team in the East began to clamp down on defense and held Indiana to just four points (1-16 shooting) in the final eight minutes of the quarter. Kawhi Leonard began to heat up offensively and the more experienced Bulls chipped away at the large deficit they faced. Leonard scored 15 of his game high 39 points in those final eight game-changing minutes of the third quarter. The Bulls outscored Indiana 25-4 in those last eight minutes of the third and took an 87-83 lead into the final quarter. The home crowd was rocking at this point and the Bull momentum continued as they scored the fourth quarters first five points extending their lead to nine. Indiana tried to counter punch but their youth and inexperience betrayed them down the stretch. Indiana shot just over 42% from the field in the game after their incredibly hot start. They also turned the ball over 24 times (8 from playoff star Luka Doncic). And to top it off they missed seven second half free throws while the Bulls missed only two all game. Kemba Walker left the game with a bad back late in the first quarter, returned in the second half but was clearly limited scoring just two points in the game. Thad Young picked up the slack scoring 19 points and also had 10 rebounds. The Bulls win sets up a rematch of last years Eastern Conference Final matchup with the Brooklyn Nets, beginning Sunday afternoon in Chicago.

Brooklyn wins series 4-3

Spoiler:
The Brooklyn Nets beat the Philadelphia 76ers 112-94 in an anticlimactic game seven of their Eastern Conference semifinal playoff series and will advance to the EC Final. The Nets blew the game open early starting the game on an 19-4 run and leading by 16 after the first quarter. Brooklyn established Joel Embiid, the best player in the series, early as Embiid scored ten of his game high 31 points in the first quarter. Kenneth Faried scored a playoff high 26 points for the Nets who cruised throughout the game, leading by as many as 23 at one point in the early third quarter. Philadelphia, making their first ever BaF playoff appearance could never get on track or cut into the deficit of the more experienced Brooklyn team. Myles Turner led the Sixers with 19 points. Brooklyn will next play on Sunday, either in Chicago against the top seeded Bulls or at home, hosting the upstart Indiana Pacers.

Spoiler:
Golden State wins series 4-3

Spoiler:
The team with the best record in the league, the Golden State Warriors, beat the Portland Trailblazers 138-113 on Friday night and survived a game seven in the Western Conference SemiFinals. And they did it the way they have been winning games all season long, with a offensive firepower, balance and the leagues best bench. Eight different players scored in double digits for the Warriors led by bench standouts Domantas Sabonis (24 points), Lou Williams (21 points) and Reggie Bullock (16 points). The Trailblazers exploded out of the gate scoring 42 first quarter points and leading by as many as 16 in the games first 12 minutes. Kevin Durant was the best player in the series and he jump started the Blazer beginning scoring 13 of his game high 30 points in the first quarter. The Warriors quickly got back into the game led by their outstanding bench and trailed by only six, 71-65 at the half. The second half was dominated by the home team Warriors as they outscored the Blazers 71-42 in the final 24 minutes. Superstar LaMarcus Aldridge played the entire game in foul trouble but was still able to contribute 16 points. Stephen Adams also stepped up offensively scoring 16 points as well. Portland had no answers once the Golden State offensive machine got rolling. Durant did what he could but he didn't get enough help from Kyrie Irving. Irving played well throughout the series but was also in foul trouble tonight and was only able to score 13 points. Marvin Bagley III continued his fine series scoring 18 points off the bench for Portland but it wasn't enough to match the Warrior bench. Golden State advances to their first ever Western Conference Finals where the defending champion Dallas Mavericks await. Dallas has opened the postseason with eight straight wins. The series begins on Sunday evening in Golden State.

Spoiler:
Chicago leads series 1-0

Spoiler:
The Chicago Bulls beat the Brooklyn Nets 106-103 in game one of their best of seven Eastern Conference Final. The first half was played at a much faster pace then most expected it would be as both teams came out firing. But it was Chicago which led almost the entire way as they took a 61-53 lead into halftime. George Hill (12 points) and Montrezl Harrell (19 points) both played well in the first half scoring 21 points between them. But it was Kawhi Leonard who led Chicago in the absence of star point guard Kemba Walker, who sat out the game with a sore back. Leonard scored a game high 29 points. The third quarter saw the Nets cut into the Bull lead and the teams entered the fourth quarter separated by only a point, with Chicago ahead 80-79. But the Nets just couldn't get over the hump. With 4:04 to play, a Victor Oladipo (24 points) three pointer briefly put the Nets ahead, 95-94, but a Leonard bucket on the next Chicago possession gave the Bulls back the lead for good. The Bulls defense was able to contain superstar big man Joel Embiid, holding him to 27 points and 6 rebounds in the game. The Bulls will look to take a 2-0 lead in game two which will be played tomorrow afternoon. Kemba Walker is expected back for the Bulls.

Dallas 113 Golden State 102

Spoiler:
Dallas leads series 1-0

Spoiler:
The Golden State Warriors won 64 games during the regular season en route to being the leagues top team and securing home court advantage throughout the playoffs. The defending champion Dallas Mavericks took that away from them in just 36 minutes as they erased a two point deficit after one quarter and imposed their will over the games final three quarters. The Dallas Mavericks have now won all nine postseason games this year as they got tremendous performances from each of their big four in game one. Jonas Valanciunas led the Mavs with 31 points, 14 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Jrue Holiday scored 26 points, Bradley Beal scored 20 to go with 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 17 points and had 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocked shots. The difference in the game though was the Dallas defense which held Golden State to just 102 points, 16 points below their league leading average. The Warriors shot under 40% from the floor and under 20% from three point range in the game. Steven Adams led the Warriors with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Russell Westbrook's scoring slump continued over from the last series as he scored just 13 points. He did contribute 11 assists but the Warriors will need to get more from him if they are going to cool down the blazing hot Mavericks. Game two will be played tomorrow evening, in Golden State.

Spoiler:
Series tied 1-1

Spoiler:
Joel Embiid would not be denied again. Embiid exploded for 43 points, 19 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocked shots a game after being "contained" in game one of the Eastern Conference Finals, a three point Brooklyn loss. The superstar big man was a force throughout the game as he overpowered the Chicago frontcourt. Embiid went to the foul line 28 times in the game including many down the stretch of this low scoring game which was more along the lines of what people expected between these two rivals. Brooklyn jumped out to a 61-48 lead at the half as again, both teams came out playing fast and loose. But the second half turned into the grind it out physical affair we are used to in games between these teams. Chicago's defense tightened in the second half holding Brooklyn to just 30 second half points as they erased the 13 point halftime deficit. Kawhi Leonard led Chicago with 28 points and hit a game tying three point shot with 1.8 seconds to play to force overtime. However, the home team could not carry over the momentum in the extra period. Brooklyn continuously fed Embiid (who took 33 field goal attempts on top of his 28 free throws). With both Chicago big men Derrick Favors and Montrezl Harrell (11 points each) fouled out third string center Joakim Noah proved little resistance in the paint. Embiid scored eight of his 43 points in the final five minutes and Brooklyn outscored Chicago 13-5 in the overtime to even up the best of seven series. Game three will move to Brooklyn tomorrow night.

Golden State 118 Dallas 98

Spoiler:
Series tied 1-1

Spoiler:
The Golden State Warriors looked like the team they had been throughout the season in game two and in doing that, they were able to hand the Dallas Mavericks their first loss of the postseason. The Warriors cruised to a 118-98 victory on Monday evening. Seven Golden State players scored in double digits, which was a common occurrence throughout the season, as the Warrior depth was too much for most teams. The Warriors were led by Lou Williams (19 points) who was inserted into the starting lineup for the first time in the playoffs. They also got a better performance from star point guard Russell Westbrook (18 points)and another solid showing from starting center, Stephen Adams (18 points). With the score tied at 26 after one quarter, the Warriors were able to pull away from Dallas with a 15-6 run to start the second quarter. They ended up going into halftime ahead by 11 points, 55-44. The second half was more of the same for the Warriors as they pushed their lead out to as many as 22 points thanks to the balanced scoring and relentless waves of offense even as they went to their bench. The Warrior bench outscored the Mavs bench 38-21 helping them to the victory. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 25 points to lead the Mavericks. Bradley Beal added 19 in a losing effort. Game three will now move to Dallas, where the defending champion Mavericks will look to rebound from their first loss of the postseason, tomorrow night.

Joel Embiid was once again an unstoppable force as he scored 47 points and had 13 rebounds. Embiid is now averaging 39 points per game in the series. Brooklyn fed off of the energy of the home crowd and jumped on Chicago early. They led 64-54 at the half and were able to grow their lead to as many as 30 early in the fourth quarter. Ben Simmons scored 20 points and added 9 assists and 8 rebounds for Brooklyn. The Brooklyn defense was excellent throughout the game as they held the Chicago star duo of Kawhi Leonard and Kemba Walker to a combined 23 points.
