OT: Where can I find car meets with younger crowds in Toronto?

Post#1 » by Caboclo » Wed May 20, 2020 5:10 am

Hey guys,

My apologies for this being off-topic, but I needed some local help, while this quarantine continues.

I recently got a fun RWD car and I'm wondering where in Toronto I can find some car meets and meet other car enthusiasts.

Specifially, I'm looking for those big crowds which gather around cars doing donuts in empty parking lots. Don't use social media a lot, and not from Toronto, so a bit hard for me.

Not looking to cause any trouble.....just looking to chat with other fellow young car guys....(not those douchey old guys with their cobras/corvettes).....and maybe burn some rubber

Please leave a reply or feel free to send me a private message. Thanks so much!

Considering the timing.

Maybe this is a symptom of being middle aged... But I'm angered at the thought of youngsters doing donuts in an empty parking lot.

I think the people you are looking for are called friends. This is a weird place to try and find some.

Not sure if this is the best time to ask for a social gathering...but if you want you can try FB groups.

As someone from rural Nova Scotia, when I hear "car meets" I immediately think of people like this:

Heartland Town Center at Krispy Kreme.

You'll find many cars waiting in the parking lot. The entire parking lot from 9am to 9pm.

So you are looking for scenes out of the Fast and the Furious series...

I can't believe I'm going to defend this because I'm old and would be annoyed if it were near me, but... don't knock interests that might not resonate with you.

There's definitely a scene and it's usually done in such a way that the general public doesn't even know about it (as evidenced by some of the posts). Also, it's one of the most Covid friendly 'social' activities you can do since it's easier to keep your distance than other stuff. You're literally in a car by yourself most of the time or talking to ppl while standing near your respective cars.
