40 year Jordan outplaying prime Vince Carter

Post#1 » by NotMyKawhi » Fri May 22, 2020 5:54 am

That thread talking about how Jordan couldn't compete with todays athletes? lmao

Vince is as good an athlete as anyone in the NBA today....I watched live prime Vince just get out played in the 2nd half to Jordan and the wizards.

If 40 year old Jordan out played prime Vince, what do you think prime Jordan would have done to him? yall are funny

“Outplayed” him by shooting 8/21 from the field with 4 TOs?

I guess that’s what passed for a good game for Wizards MJ.

If the bar is any one random game where he outperforms a current star then yeah Jordan would do well in today's game

Did you even watch the video? Vince was great...in the first half, then had a bagel in the second. MJ was the other way around and got the W.

Also, Tyronn Lue played for the Wizards :o

Michael destroyed Carter every time they met, not even close:

I know everyone's trying to outwit one another, but for once let's just enjoy the beauty of that video. The guy is rapidly losing the fight to age, but the pure effort he was exerting on defense was just cool to watch. We don't always have to hate on everything. Let's enjoy it for what it is. Life's too short.

if you think his wizards output is not that impressive just check the Carter's averages at the same age.

I remember this game, Kobe was going for blood. That was back when Kobe was at his peak peak, forget sometimes how good he really was!

MJ was 38 tho.
Old Steve Nash outplayed Steph Curry not just once but many times.

So now MJ outplayed Vince for HALF a game...the criteria just keeps getting smaller, lol.

I wish I could take this post and plaster it everywhere on the General Board. I wish people would just appreciate basketball rather than find ways to use it to tear down or prop up particular players.

At this point with all the sarcastic quips and pot-shots, Wizards Jordan actually seems to be pretty underrated. Like yeah, no **** he was "way past his prime" when his prime was literally the closest thing to a perfect basketball player. He was still a 38-40 year old putting up good volume numbers, being a clear net positive (+3.1 and +2.8 on/off) and almost dragging an absolute garbage roster to the playoffs in both seasons. Seems like people just blindly stare at "but True Shooting Percentagezzzz" and falsely believe that he was 2014-16 Kobe or something.

They translate todays game of being ulta efficient shooting to the 90/early 00's and trash him, Different era's are so **** to compare As you said, Jordan was waay past his prime, on a trash team and did well.

People are just upset and believe he tarnished his reputation because he wasnt now the best player on the court at 38, No ****. Was still an under-rated player coming out of retirement after 3 seasons out of the NBA, out of shape, out of any competition, with shot knee's. What he did was pretty remarkable

Imagine if Manu came back and averaged 20 ppg.

I had the game circled on my calendar so as to avoid the news that day because everyone knew that Kobe was as you say going for blood.

I idolized Jordan and couldn't stomach even hearing about it
