Howdy! I think we just kicked the door in. Conservative Washington Post columnist, Max Boot recently authored this article on the decline of America. This the result of continuing to redistribute money, via one tax cut after another, from the middle class and the poor to the powerful and wealthy who use the military and law enforcement thugs to protect their fascist state. Why do you think all of law enforcement idolize Trump. I think they'd all suck his dick. Really.

not for nothing, but this phenomenon really hit fever pitch during the obama administration. he was by far the most establishment-friendly, trickle-down president of any of our lifetimes, and this is coming from someone who voted for him. point being - there are no good guys in any of this and it would be foolish to think there are, as sad as it is to say. the real change should have happened in 2008 - if it didn't happen then, with the virtually unlimited political capital we had at our disposal, it's never going to. i saw a lot of this coming very early through professional experience and left the US several years ago as i had a deep feeling that the situation was untenable. unfortunately things have devolved far past anything i could have imagined and it's hard to see a way out.

The problem that is never addressed is you have these non intelligent, adrenaline junkie, white men with pre-existing prejudices (and some down right racists) on these power trips because they are police officers so they think they are better or above civilians.

Look the few kids that graduated school that I knew went on to that profession I wouldn't consider bright individuals. They did ok/poor in school and didn't go to college and probably saw this as an outlet because they couldn't and what other options do they have? They didn't want or couldn't get into college and figured this was an avenue to have a career.

Problem is it is a tough job that you have split second decisions and you have too many officers incapable of making the proper decision because they just aren't intelligent enough.

What is the most disgusting is that this situation didn't even require a split second decision. The man was subdued, was not a threat in any way shape or form, and was expressing that he was struggling to breath.

Being fired just simply isn't enough in this case. And the underlying issue is this profession requires more intelligent people. I simply do not believe a high school diploma should be enough to warrant that kind of control and power simply because the people of authority aren't educated enough (then add in the really bad eggs with underlying prejudices and you have a nightmare situations that have been happening).

that makes sense, but we are coming to a bottle neck point if they don't reassess the qualifications of the people they are putting in these positions things will get worse. You will continue to have that distrust between both parties until you start appointing more intelligent more highly educated people in these positions of authority.
