That would be the Knicks luck to end up picking 15th or something.

For example the suns who have 5 more wins than the knicks would get left out of the constructed playoff bracket but the knicks get in?
I it doesn't make sense to do anything conference related because they probably will be playing in one location and travel doesn't matter.
Take the best 20-24 teams and play. Knicks need to stay home and get there pick
i think that's been discussed but there's been no decision. also, i think they talked about 20 teams not 24. unless it changed today.

20 would make the most sense but how do you decide between Sacramento and NOP for the last spot in the west if you do top 10 in each conference.
They want Zion in for sure
They need his marketing, people will watch him

the teams will vote on this. if they say no maybe it will change. my understanding is that it is top 20 for the whole league not 10 per conference.

that would make the most sense so you would have Portland, NOP, Sacramento, and Spurs added to the 16 already playoff teams.

Zach Lowe had an interesting proposal for the last 3 slots, he called 3 v 7 tourney. So basically the three teams(BK,Magic,Griz) that are currently in the playoffs have play in games against one another for two of the last 3 slots. So let's say Brooklyn loses out, they would have to play winner of NOP, Blazers, Spurs, Kings. So it kinda compresses the chase for the 8th seed into a quick play in tourney, similar to the beginning of March Madness.

Deeeez Knicks wrote:thebuzzardman wrote:The thing C Wood (heh) is that he'd be a really good signing at one price (a lowish one) and maybe not at a higher one.
At the higher price, with the cap implications and the players NOT signed with that money that year and forward, a team would have to be confident he'd continue to play at the high level he displayed for a only a portion of his career.
They'd have to know he broke out, for sure.
Still, obviously, wings are a higher priority
Yea, it reminds me of the Timmy situation. A decent youngish player that broke out in the 2nd half, but we will probably have to overpay to steal him away. And then he probably is not going to make a big difference anyway on a bad team and then we will all hate him for not living up to a contract he should have never been offered.
Truer words have never been said. If I remember correctly Timmys 2nd half was very similar to that of Klay in terms of PPG, RPG, APG, FG & TS%. By no means am I saying the board thought he was Klay-Lite but the point still stands. Even if Wood plays at a similar level to what he has recently shown we should not be tying up $16-$18 mill on another big. We need to be patient, continue with our cap flexibility and WHEN there is someone that we either (A) want to sign or (B) trade for and absorb a contract that is when we strike. Wood would be a huge mistake and a step backwards in terms of sound logic.

Yeah thats dumb.
They need to have the top 20 teams record wise. Then create 4 brackets, give the top 4 seeds a bye and each of the bracketed teams play a best of 3. Then top seeds play lowest remaining seeds in a their bracket. Best of 5. Then winners advance, best of 7. Then chip it up best of 7 again.
This way all the teams that were on the bubble in the West have a chance to win it all
Group A
Bucks (Bye)
Jazz vs Blazers
76ers vs Grizzles
Group B
Lakers (Bye)
Celtics vs Pelicans
Rockets vs Nets
Group C
Raptors (Bye)
Heat vs Spurs
Thunder vs Mavs
Group D
Clippers (Bye)
Nuggets vs Kings
Pacers vs Magic
Then have A vs D B vs C ya know

So many divided opinions usually their is a guy in the draft the majority agree on lol but not this one
As much as I like Randle, this guy fits better with RJ and Mitch. Just make Randle the 6th man or something. But man his athletcism is just..![]()
He would have MSG going crazy. If he falls to the Knicks I would def take him.
IF we were to get Obi 1 Nico Mannion would be a must with our second pick which I'm all for. A player that can control the floor on offense. High assist, pushing the ball (not letting the defense set up), off ball movement.... Mannion and Obi 1 would be a match made in heaven.
Yeah we were just talking about this on here yesterday about how Mannion would be a good pick if we didn't go PG with our lottery pick. I actually said i'd take Mannion or T.Jones at #27 whether we took a PG in the lottery or not. At one point earlier this year we were talking about taking Mannion with our lottery pick but he was also being projected as a lottery pick at that time but now i see him late 1st round in pretty much every mock i see. I'm a fan of his and if we got Obi he'd be a great addition at #27.

That's true but luckily the game isn't only played with 2 players and is a team game and if you can get all 5 guys to play team defense it could work with Mitch at the 5 and strong defenders at the 2 and 3 spots. I'm not a big Obi guy with his bad defense being one of the major reasons and am hoping Perrin stays with the Jazz way of building with defensive players, but if we do draft Obi then we still need to get a PG and Mannion would be a nice pickup in the late 1st round at #27. I also like T.Jones who's a much better defender.

can you name one championship team that had 2 atrocious defenders at the point of attack?
teams would just isolate those two in the 1-4 P&R and what would team defense do there?

Didn't watch, but assuming it shines on him being a 0 in the half-court. Prob a 2 at the next level unless he plays w a 2 like Booker.
