Anyone else NOT excited/looking forward to the season resuming/finishing considering the current circumstances? Has COVID broken me?

Maybe once the games are actually aired, I could get back into it. But right now? Meh.

You are not alone. This doesn't excite me right now at all. Maybe like you said if/when games are actually aired I will care more. But so much has happened in the real world it feels awfully anti climatic to me at the moment.

edit: Also the Celtics last game feels like it was a year or two ago at this point. It's going to be very odd this summer if this happens in a different location to witness.

This ESPN article provides a good rundown of MLB's plan for returning:

https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/29175321/how-major-league-baseball-finding-narrow-way-back-field-coronavirus-pandemic

Excerpt:

MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL'S plan to start the season by July 4 relies on a dizzying array of moving parts, including the cooperation of 27 U.S. cities and a foreign country, the availability of more than 200,000 reliable coronavirus tests and a promise not to interfere with the nationwide fight to contain the pandemic.

ESPN examined the challenges facing MLB as it struggles to get back on the field. What emerges is like nothing that has been attempted in the history of American sport, less a baseball season than a military-style operation in which any number of variables could derail the plan, or, worse, contribute to the spread of the deadly disease.

My name's Henry Connor.
Conner Henry was a Celtic.
Hence the pun.

The Boston Marathon, after getting rescheduled from April to September, has now been cancelled for the first time in 124 years.

2020 HOF induction of Kobe, Duncan, KG, and co., originally scheduled for August 29, has been postponed to 2021.

What sort of contingency plans do you have for players who are immune compromised or live with someone who is, or for if a team has an outbreak of Covid, what happens to the schedule? One Covid player and you’re out? Or two? This is wild stuff. Makes sense to start it and I hope they get to finish it, but I’m not banking on it right now. Do they call up Gleague players?

Wow. This is really tough for the Boston Marathon.
Cancelled. After being held through everything else, Wars and so forth.

is it odd that I find myself kind of hoping MLB never returns?

And I'm a Red Sox fan but seriously it's old and boring, let's give MLS their 'slot' in our national consciousness.

What's the timeline like for the NHL's return?
