wtf? He's been much better than Marquis this year and way better than Trachsel.

Seriously, **** the Cubs management. They have no idea how to run a baseball team. This team has underachieved all year, no wonder we haven't won in almost a century.

I am so glad Hendry went out and got some hitting.

I guess the Cubs want a RLRLR rotation, which doesn't matter at all. That's bullcrap.

it could just be for this one round of the rotation. I know we need another lefty int he pen but I really have no confidence in anything Trachsel can do. I hope this isn't for the long haul.

Seriously i frkin hope Trachsel w/e his name is spelled gets tee'd off of when he starts. I know it sounds bad but it's better for the future because I want jim hendry to be fired as soon as possible..

I think Hendry sees Marquis as a post season experienced pitcher. He has had some bad games, but his era in the post season has been pretty good and consistent, especially his last 5 or so games, dating back to a few years ago for STL.

Trachsel on the other hand has had two games of post season experience and they've been absolutely terrible. Look for yer self...

GAME 1

Inn Outs H R BB SO BF Pit-Str
1 3 1 0 0 1 5 15-9
2 3 1 0 0 0 3 6-4
3 3 0 0 1 1 4 20-11
4 1 4 2 0 0 5 24-14

GAME 2

Inn Outs H R BB SO BF Pit-Str
1 3 3 2 3 1 8 28-14
2 0 2 3 2 0 4 15-7

Hopefully we can give Marshall a break now, then Marquis the last couple weeks. I like these two ready on a spot notice to start in a 4 pitcher rotation for the post season. A lefty and a righty for that last spot depending on matchups is a great thing to have.

I truly think Hendry sees Trachsel as a consistent, veteran-type, temporary starter to give our main guys a rest in Sept. If anything wins ya games in October its a healthy well rested pitching staff.

Now if Lou or Hendry, whomever would be responsible for the decision(I assume more Lou and maybe only Lou), start Trachsel for a post season game, I would be outraged. Unless of course he turns it on in miraculous fashion in Sept in his temporary starts for Marshall and Marquis, or any other starter in need of a full week or so off.

All this assuming we make the playoffs.

Un-jinx the jinxed jinx.

Adding to that:

Trachsel doesn't blow you away as a pitcher but he is a less version of Ted Lilly, actually more consistent, older, but also not as good as Lilly overall.

Both guys are inning eaters. I guess the veteran factor should be pointed out again, anybody got any other reasons for Trachsel?

Trachsel is a good veteran for us. But unlike Dusty Baker, Lou will not be outmanaged by the other team. He will use his starters in the bullpen if we make the playoffs.

-3-man rotation (if we have a 3-man rotation), Z and Lilly will probably be pitched in the shortest rest if possible.
Zambrano
Lilly
Marquis?

My playoff rotation in order of importance...

starters:
Zambrano* (I could see him start the home opener[remember his home dominance; deff a Lou move],which would be game 2 or 3 since we won't have home field)
Lilly
Hill
Marquis

closer:
Dempster

setup:
Marmol(critical situation; inherited batters)
Howry(clean and longer situtaions)

jam situation early:
Wood

long:
Marshall/Trachsel equal

the rest:
Eyre
Wuertz
Ohman
Gallagher

EDIT:

lefty specialist:
Eyre/Trachsel (both equal, but Eyre in only quick situation; ie. 2outs, or good matchup)
