What was Mark thinking when he tried to stretch that out? You are down two runs in the 6th inning, just stay at 1st.
Update:
New York Mets-3
Atlanta Braves-1
Tom Glavine went 6 innings giving up 1 earned run.
John Smoltz has gone 6 innings giving up 3 earned runs.
New York Mets @ Atlanta

The Braves just had a lead off single in the 6th inning and the guys up next never got the ball out of the infield! All's they needed to do was make solid contact and drive the ball to the outfield. Just move the guy over. Julio Franco struck out also, when your veteran guys can't step up for you your club is going to struggle.

I said it before but JS should not have traded James for Dotel. He was a good #5. Even the Salty trade looks bad now (too much young talent - hindsight always 20/20). Better hope Teix re-signs (there will be lots of competition). Also, Renteria looks like a valuable chip since Escobar has emerged...
It was Davies, not James. And Davies was only good against the Mets so that's probably why you think he was a decent #5. Against everyone else he was garbage. The Salty trade doesn't look bad IMO. Teixeira did exactly what the Braves wanted and more. Unfortunately Renteria got hurt and the rest of the team got worse. I think we'll be in a good position to resign Teixeira if we choose to.

Moises Alou just lost his mind! He argued a call that the umpire said that he went around on a swing. So he started barking at the first base umpire and he threw him out right away. Then Moises threw his bat down in between home and the pitcher's mound. Then the home plate umpire (not knowing he already got thrown out) ran Moises out to. He probably will get faced with a fine or suspension, probably both.

My bad...Davies. Anyway, hasn't he pitched well for KC? And in the Teix trade you also gave up your #1 pitching prospect. But I guess JS was going for it all so you can't really fault him too much...

The Atlanta Braves just got freakin swept! They made a run though in the bottom of the 9th. They had a lead off double by B-Mac and Kelly Johnson knocked him in on a base knock to left field. Then Pete Orr came up and bunted the ball way to hard to first base and Kelly Johnson was thrown out. That bunt has got to be laid down, it's so key to lay that bunt down properly. The game could have turned out way different if that ball could have been laid down properly. Then with one out and a guy on first Yunel Escobar grounded to first, Delgado picked it up, tapped first and threw it to second but the guy running to second was safe. Then Matt Diaz came up and he grounded into a 4-3 to end the game.
