The Warriors roll out Klay and Curry for the "playoffs", this is not an insane scenario.

The worst team in the league wins the title, and drafts overall #1.

Sounding a lot like 22 teams will play. For the East this is 1-9 in: Bucks-to-Wiz.

But there is an interesting point that all teams will play at least 8 games. That is more than a round-robin. This is actual games.

It is all about TV money it seems. These number of games are "REQUIRED" for the NBA to get-paid.

Also sounding a lot like an late-Sept. and Oct. playoffs.

Now sounds like there will be an 8 game season to determine a NEW seeding for this playoff format.

Apparently there will be 8 regular season games and the play in is for any team within 4 games.

I think we will be fine. We have a big lead on the Wizards

Hopefully our guys are ready and don't come out completely flat, so wiz can't force a play-in.

I was nervous the league was going to screw us but honestly you can’t be more fairer. 8 games to try and catch nets for 7th seed. To avoid playin all we have to do is stay 4+ games ahead of Wiz. And even if we have to go to playin we only have to win one while 9 has to win two games. I am assuming that the Wiz don’t catch us for the 8 with 5 game lead with 8 games to play. But if we collapse that bad we don’t even deserve it.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29260860/sources-nba-approve-plan-22-team-return-eight-regular-season-games

July 31 is a long time from now. Game 7 of the Finals would be scheduled for October 12th and 1st night of next season would begin on December 25th potentially.

How wild. I wonder why they don’t just have a playoff tournament in normal format beginning next month/shorter offseason/get back to it again in November.

If this is accurate, it means the Magic will play...

Game 1: vs Kings
Game 2: vs Nets
Game 3: vs Pacers
Game 4: vs Nets
Game 5: vs Pelicans
Game 6: vs Celtics
Game 7: vs 76ers
Game 8: vs Celtics

I'm satisfied with the final plan. 8 regular season games to catch the 7 seed could be fun. Most teams involved are incentivized to win at all costs, which will make for a fun environment.

Otherwise would have played the Bulls, Hornets, Pistons, Cavs, Kings, Nets, Pacers, Nets.

Our strength of schedule definitely got harder.

I see 2 maybe 3 W’s out of the 8. Depends if we split or sweep Nets.

Only the wizards? Whew so.. we don't have to worry about 2 teams that *might* kick us out of the POs then. All we have to do is maintain 4 games ahead of the Wizards to be sure of the POs spot. How many games do we need to win over the Nets for the 7th?

So nets..

Are cthe clips and celts *tanking* errr positioning themselves for a better matchup? Like lose a game or 2 so they get to face who they want? Otherwise.. Kings Wiz and us are the only *possible* wins for them. Unless of course Kyrie and KD comes back 100% then goodbye

Wizards schedule is **** brutal:
Celtics
Thunder
76ers
Nets
Bucks
Celtics
Bucks
Lakers

All we have to do is stay at 4+ lead and if we don’t when they are playing that schedule it’s an us problem.

We are a half game back of nets so all we need to do is win one more game than nets to get 7th seed

Even if we do get the 8th, Wiz has to beat us 2 times to take our spot and we just have to beat them once for the right to eat Gian's elbow in the POs. Thus, I do hope we get the 7th seed.

Yikes—assuming guys don’t just sit out, that might be only 1 win. Maybe none.
