The best they could have done. I do wish there was some sort of tourney for the other 8 teams not invited.

Good riddance. They had no business wasting anyone's time being brought back. The sooner this season and roster is forgotten about, the better.

I read somewhere that it will push it back, but that’s it. Golden State couldn’t have gotten anymore lucky. They basically won this seasons championship with all of this. Even the real champions will have some kind of asterisk next to their name.

As for us, we’re expected to be 7th in the lottery odds. That gives us the highest probability of picks 7-9. Par for the course and puts a nice bow on a real craptacular season.

Most likely the top picks in the lotto go to teams with Steph & Klay, Trae & John Collins, or KAT & Russell.

Talent distribution in this league is still broken.

One of those pairings is not like the others.

Not really. Collins is on the rise.

Steph is by far the best player there and Klay is probably the best 2nd option too.

That pairing doesn't belong in the conversation.

Maybe the lottery only consists those 8 teams and the other 22 teams get their spot in the draft?

I think if the Bulls had a 'star' player the league would have dropped down far enough to get the big market team into their group. But being Chicago alone won't make a dent in the ratings

It will be interesting to see the final proposal.

I would assume for certain that the teams not invited back are locked into their spots, so we are 7th.

What they do with the teams that come back will be interesting, because there are a few different reasonable choices.

I think if the Bulls had a star player, we would have been a top 8 team in the East.

why would they skip the lottery part for the teams not invited back? That seems like an odd choice.

Finally! And I'm kinda relieved that the Bulls season is over. Hopefully we can move on from Boylen now to really start this new era.
I wonder how this impacts the lotto. Would the 6 invited teams that misses the playoffs just draft based on their record/win % or are they still gonna be part of the lotto? Should be interesting.

As for the format, I thought they were gonna go for a more unusual setup that what they ended up with. Some experimental stuff like no conference, 1-16 playoffs just to test it out. Tho if the play-in tournament is a success, maybe they can use it for something else like a lotto play-in tourney or something.

Looks like the Bulls will now pick anywhere between 1-8.

The Warriors, Cavaliers, Timberwolves, Hawks, Pistons, Knicks, Bulls, and Hornets will likely be locked into the top eight lottery slots, a source tells Hoops Rumors. The order within the top eight has yet to be determined, but the structure means the Wizards couldn’t go 0-8 this summer when the season resumes and land a better position in the lottery than those teams that won’t be playing.

ahhh, ok it makes sense now, I read it to mean "there will be no lottery, we get #7"

Thanks!

Next season starting December 1st, tentatively, per Shams... Warriors may have an advantage late in the playoffs next season, as contenders this season may have less than 6 weeks before the two seasons. Who knows, it could benefit the Bulls in case of late playoff push next summer...

Sucks to be left out of the bubble. Would’ve been a great recruiting opportunity.
