If it did at least that would make it impossible to fall to 9th or 10th and increase our odds in general

I agree though those other 6 teams should just be made to pick in order and not get to be in the lottery

But I wouldn’t hold my breath for that

they should do something like this every year to be honest. give the bottom 8 teams all equal chances. give the rest set draft spots and a play in tournament to get the 8th seed.

that would really downplay the regular season...which im sure the NBA doesn't want.

They did it so Zion has a shot to be in the playoffs. If they don’t make it, expect them to win the lottery

So as Im watching the lottery I can get really excited if we don't get called 10th - 7th.

yeah but with the new circumstances where they are giving say the wizards a get out of jail free card and allowing them a outside shot of playoffs but then if they lose in the play in tournament they go right back to there original odds. When a team like Charlotte that was 1 game worse then them have no shot at playoffs and literally the same lottery odds.

Doesn't really matter though, whoever gets in at 8 is getting bounced out quick by the Bucks anyway. If they include Charlotte then they gotta include Chicago and Knicks also and is it really worth it? I'm sure the NBA knows it doesn't matter who gets 8th seed

we were not mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. we were about to go on a run. this is bullchit. these play in teams are essentially in the playoffs now and should not get to participate in the lottery get their cake and eat it too
