Barr is out of his mind. How do people not see that?

what is it w boomer republicans and cryptofascism? decades and decades of condemning authoritarian control, bombarded with anti-fascist media re: nazis and USSR, seeing the horrors of gov't control in Vietnam, systemic racism (segregation, busing), becoming disproportionately rich off the fruits of globalization and with a snap of a finger, Trump's got them all marching to the beat of a fascist drum?

like, what is even going on?

I probably shouldn't answer this but...

Think about the reasons that folks voted R and voted for Trump?
1) Evangelicals - POTUS the sinner, is a flawed vessel, but offers a path to salvation for a fallen nation (abortion).
2) Racists - Anything to stop equal footing for minorities or to have the nation become minority majority
3) Hate of Democrats - Us vs. Them and social policies.
4) Fiscal Conservatives - Just throw that one out now
5) National security/Global influence - they see America's roll as one of leading the world.

You can't change 1. You cite that things are burning and the cite rapture. You can't change 2, they see us as a white nation. 3 is deeply ingrained. 4 - well, those folks are really worried. 5 - lots in the military would now like to see a change.

Probably Nate falls into one of the top three. You can't change that - and why bother. This election will be about the 60% that deeply believe he has failed as POTUS.

This is about getting rid of all the whataboutisms and getting folks out to vote. Full Stop.

Yeah I kind of wrote her off as a business friendly, pro-gentrification DINO. But she's impressed me lately.

Fox News poll shows Biden ahead in Arizona, Wisconsin and neck and neck in Ohio.

https://www.seattlepi.com/local/politics/article/Fox-News-polls-battleground-states-Trump-has-a-15317493.php

The polling found ex-Vice President Joe Biden ahead by 45-43% in Ohio, a state that Trump carried by eight points four years ago. Voters in the Buckeye State trust Trump over Biden by 11 points on the economy, but favor Biden by 13 points in handling race relations and give him a six-point advantage on dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

In Arizona, a state which Trump won by four points in 2016, Biden is ahead by four points, 46% to 42%. The Grand Canyon State has voted for a Democratic presidential candidate just once since 1948, supporting Bill Clinton over Bob Dole in 1996.

Trump won a narrow upset victory in Wisconsin four years ago, and has courted the state ever since. But Fpox found Biden with a 49-40% lead. Badger State voters narrowly prefer Trump on the economy, but give Biden a whopping 14 point lead on responding to the coronavirus, and an even larger 22 point lead on dealing with America's hurting race relations.

I heard a report on the news last night they were tied _in Texas_.

November can't come soon enough.

All the swing state polls can be found here:

Trump is still up (but barely) in Texas (not listed as a swing state):

And of course (the leads seem to be widening):

NYPD have been covering up their badge numbers 'in commemoration of officers" who passed from COVID-19. This is a deliberate violation of the 2018 Right to Know Act, and a huge middle finger up to Mayor DeBlasio who they perceive as weak and anti-cop. Granted it opens the City up to massive liability lawsuits, but Commissioner Shea gives no shxts about oversight or repercussions.

Now Philadelphia cops have picked up the tactic.

They are dirty and they know they are dirty. They're scared of being outed for malfeasance in the current 'cancel culture' and instead of learning to act right they are trying to hide in plain sight behind that 'us against them' blue wall.

Just like we knew it would...

NRA Accidentally Forgets To Rise Up Against Tyrannical Government
An embarrassed National Rifle Association says it totally forgot to do the one thing it has been saying for years it is solely there to do.

“Our whole reason for lobbying for looser gun laws and amassing huge personal arsenals of weapons these past years was so that we could ensure the security of a free state and protect the people from an oppressive government. And then it actually happened, and the whole rising up against a tyrannical government thing just totally slipped our minds, which is a little embarrassing,” a sheepish NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre said.

He said the morale around the NRA has been pretty low. “The guys feel pretty silly. We had our well regulated militia stocked up and ready to go, just waiting for the moment when the Government would turn on its own people. And then the government started shooting protesters and rolling tanks down the street, and we were like ‘guys this is the one we’ve been talking about, let’s go!’. But then something else came up and we forgot to do it. Damnit!”.

Observers were shocked that the NRA had missed their opportunity to defend their country. “I can’t believe it,” one analyst said. “It’s almost as if they weren’t worried about the government at all. It’s as if they were actually just scared of black people”.
