Re: Aleksej Pokusevski
I think what intrigues me most about Poku is his feel for the game and passing for a potential 4/5. He's got a little Diaw/Jokic/Iggy floor general from a non PG position to his game.
I kind of like the Kaminsky comp as a floor though. I think Poku is a better athlete with better handles, passing and more rim protection potential... but if those things don't pan out and a team doesn't trust him playmaking/handling, I could see a Kaminsky role where its more simple spot ups and smart passing.

He wont be there. He wont get passed the Mavs at #18, so Boston would need to use #17 for him

I thought there was a wide range of values associated with him. As I seen him mocked all the way from late teens to late 20s

It's just a question of which teams are patient enough to develop him for 2 - 3 years before they get anything in return.

denver is patient
Also, member Klyde something, obviously tries to look silly in few years
Bender? Because he is 7 foot tall?
Pokusevski is definitely a Durant type of player, and don't be surprised if some team gets him in top 10

I don't think Poku is going to need that much time to be useful, he has improved quickly in the past and he knows how to play, same as with LaMelo, sure they need to improve physically but they can be a part of a team right away
They are readier than guys like Edwards who got no clue about playing bball

One thing that stood at to me watching the videos here http://www.tankathon.com/players/aleksej-pokusevski he's got great natural body control. There's a couple of times where he runs a ball down, beats someone to it, and changes directions without hesitation - one of them, he stops on a dime and easily makes a 3. Seems to have broad enough shoulders to eventually fill out on top. Love his quick passing skills and quick hands on D. Obviously, he'll get over-powered early in his career.

This is what I’ve been saying. He’s ready to contribute now even if in a bench role. Play him at the 3 or 4, whichever position he defends better.

I think Boston takes him at #17 and stashes him in Europe. Perfect solution for the roster issues they are having with three FRP. .

In terms of his body, he's acutally got pretty good legs. It reminds me of Andrei Kirilenko. His upper body was rail thin and he looked like a waif, but you look and see he weighed over 230 lbs., and it's because he had a solid base. I think Poku will hold up pretty well. He definitely needs strength, but his balance and his base look promising.

If Memphis ends up out of the playoffs, the Celtics will be drafting at 13 or 14.

I dont think trading up is going to work in this weak draft. Trading down to get another late FRP? Dont see it.
I also dont think the Mavs are able to move 2-3 spots up with offering #31...

there are trade ups in every single draft, every single one, just because a draft is deemed week doesn't mean teams don't really like some players.
also, Boston has 3 picks in 1st round alone, that's on top of 2 firsts last year and an already a roster full of players that are about to be paid, they have to consolidate at some point.

Re: Aleksej Pokusevski
also last year people said the same thing, bad draft, no one wants to trade up
what happened? we saw the most trades in the 1st round ever.

Re: Aleksej Pokusevski
Looks like Pokusevski has a big problem on the defensive end. He has a hard time changing direction. His burst isn't good at all.
