Looks like we get going in about two weeks!!!

What a weird season this will be. Everyone out of action for about a 1/4 of the year. Thank god we have our monster cushion. No telling how we will play...but we just need to secure enough points at this point. Get to the finish line, for Christ's sake!!! Quick before some other BS comes along.

Hope you all made it out the other side, and things are well. I was considered 'essential' so none of this really effected me. LA traffic will never be that good again =0( <------ worst part of it for me. I'm used to sitting in traffic for 90 minutes. And now I got this "taste" of the good life. Already, traffic is creeping back to normal.

Anyhow.....just glad to see we will finish this season, and actually 'officially' win the damn thing. Been a long time coming for this fan. Hope I can get myself in the correct mindset to drink, and carry on when we do it. Will be a great day.

YNWA guys. Hope to hear from y'all again in the next couple weeks, so we can enjoy watching this ship come in.

On a positive note. We have survived these two months without football - and now we're looking at games in June and July before a new season in August followed by the Euros 2020 - 2021, lol - the olympics and then the 21/22 season. Looking into 2½ season before the next summer break from football more or less - 7-9-13 (danish wording to avoid jinxing something)...

I just want us to buy Werner this summer. We have performed on an insanely high level for two seasons now without any new blood. I think it's necessary with renewal of the team if we wanna keep performing at this level or close to it.

Seems like we backed of from Werner due to the economics. I'm honestly a bit shocked and disappointed if that's really the case. I can understand the cautiousness during these times, but i would think we would be able to compete at the transfer market despite. We just had a record high turnover and the economics just looked great overall, with very great results on the pitch aswell.

If the economics are the reason we don't have any shot at Havertz or Sancho either, as both a more expensive than Werner. Just surprised we actually isn't in a position to buy proven players - despite the time we're in. Chelsea are already spending, with Ziyech and Werner + probably more transfers to come. I can only imagine City and United spending money aswell.

Though we have been on another level than those teams this season, we are the perfect example of how you can skyrocket with the right improvements on a few positions. We went from just securing 4th in 17/18 to suddenly being a top-3 team in Europe and getting the 3rd highest point total in PrL history. I can easily see both Chelsea and United be at the same lvl as us next season if they succeed to improve key positions - and we on the other hand, for the third straight season stays with almost the complete same team. I expect City to be atleast on our level next season and wouldn't be surprised if either United or Chelsea can challenge us aswell.

Tbf, Salah, Mané and Firmino aren't often injured, so having Origi, Shaqiri and some young guys as backup is enough imo.
Doesn't warrant a huge signing like Werner.

This season Origi have shown he isn't good enough to be the first option off the bench. Shaqiri is for sale - COVID is the only thing that might keep him at the club. Minamino, Elliott, Curtis. I think those three will be potential x-factors.

We have played with the same team for two seasons now - i believe the only way to stay at top is constant renewal of the team. I just don't see us being able to keep this high level for a third season. I would like to think Werner is/was a no brainer - now and in the future. But i guess the economics just aren't great, despite a ton of TV-money, great results on the pitch, new enormous deal with Nike etc. It's clear FSG are playing this safe and don't wanna risk anything, unknown of the future and when football and the world goes back to normal again - and they aren't posting their own money in the club like Abramovich in Chelsea or Mansour in City.

So I just checked the schedule ahead. First match is on the 21st (Everton). July is jam-packed (7 games in the span of 3 weeks). I guess they didn't want to stretch the remaining schedule into August. A little odd. Unless I'm missing something?

Does anyone know when next season ('20/'21) is likely to get underway? Late August? September? October?

Well it looks like Lallana will be taking off. His role has been whittled down to almost nothing these days (age / injury have not helped his cause)so it's not a huge surprise. Top class on both sides to sign a super-short deal to allow him to stay and finish the season (his contract expires June-30). I think thats fantastic. Really like Adam. He and Milner have both been guys who prob aren't quality enough to start for a title-winning team....but are great bench pieces. They commit 1000% to the job, and tend to come through with some great moments.

I feel like we need to start looking at bringing in a few pieces soon. Some fresh legs / blood. I'd prioritize our midfield. Henderson ain't gettin younger. Prob has a couple top years left...and I did Fabinho (MOST OF THE TIME...but occasionally his has a pretty poor outing). Feel the drop off starts there, and it's not top level, by any stretch.

Anyhow...topic for another day. Just glad Lallana will get to hoist big-ears, with the rest of the squad. He deserves it, and best of luck wherever he goes.

They want the season finished by the 25th July so that teams playing in Europe will not be inconvenienced.

2 games per week really shouldn't be a problem and even less so for those teams with big squads.

As someone born in Brussels and raised in Belgium for 11 years as an Anderlecht fan, i love your club standard. Nice to see representation on a forum like this.

Looking forward to a healthy consumption of beer the next 1½ month. Made a deal with a friend - a fellow Liverpool fan. One beer for every day since our last game = 102 beers on matchdays during the nine remaining games. Prob going with half damage, 51 x 0,5l each.

Puttin in the work!! I love it. Sadly, I'm prob about 50 beers a week on a normal day.....so that's about 250 beers the next 5 weeks / 9 games. Maybe more. Thankfully I drink ultras...and am very active, otherwise I'd prob be dead.

I notice you said matchdays. Hmmmm 9 days, 102 beers....so we're basically talking a 12-pack. I'm already committed to Margaritas this Sunday....but we'll see what we can do. Perhaps I'll join the race to the finish with you guys.

50 beers a week, that sounds hardcore - can't compete with you there . My beer consumption are mainly limited to Liverpool games. We're usually between 5-12/14 0.5l beers at the pub, when we meet on matchdays - the numbers of beers depending on next day schedule and the result.

You're welcome to join! - can give updates after each game :D

....

1½ days before the pre-party begins + 8 hours until we're back in game action. Can't wait. These last three month has been depressing, specially also missing the title parade in the city. Can only imagine the scenes in Liverpool... but **** happens. Deffo booking a new trip whenever they are able to hold the parade!
