Does anyone think Conor isn't fighting again? Lol.

No but the UfC is stupid if they let him sit on the shelf.
Every month he sits is more lost revenue.
He’s only had one fight Since ESPN took over PPVs as well, and it wasn’t a title fight just Cowboy. I wonder if he’s seeing the numbers and they are way off from before

I might have - just felt like i either should include all five in the C category or exclude all of them.
I don't agree with 205 being the worst divison at the top if Jones leaves. I think people in general underestimate the contenders. Remember the days where Rua, Shogun, Rampage, Rashad, Liddell etc were in the LHW and the division were considered the greatest division in the UFC. If Jones was around back then, he would've dominated that division completely and neither of the guys mentioned would have the status they have today. The same with the WW division when GSP ruled. Guys like Shields, Condit, Hendricks etc made less a name of themselves because they were in the shadow of GSP. If Jones didn't ruin some of his legacy, DC probably would never have been the champ at 205 with Jones suspended and considered an ATG.
All in all i just don't think the contenders at 205 are that bad tbf.

When I do goats I have it broken into categories:
Bigs, Middles, small
Bigs: Jones, DC, Fedor, Stipe are my top 4
Middles: GSP, Silva
Small: Mouse.
If you asked me what 5 go on the Mount Rushmore,
I have Jones, GSP, Mouse, Silva and then...DC. I know Fedor is a popular choice, but I don’t see any world where DC loses to Fedor, and if it wasn’t for PED Jones and Dana pushing Cormier to fight past 40 when his heart obviously wasn’t in it, he probably would have been undefeated dominating two weight classes.

I believe this makes his 3rd retirement in the last 4 years. This is just becoming a yearly thing for him now. Give it a month or two and we will see he is in negotiations to fight Tony, Masvidal or the winner of Gaethje/Khabib.

You guys know I don't like Jones but I feel like his tweets today are the most honest thing I've ever heard him say. Do yourself a favor and read them. A taste:

Fighters have to organize if anything is ever going to change. Or at least someone pulls a Curt Flood and sues over interdependent contractor status.

They need a CBA where they get a much bigger split of the revenue than they are getting. It's crazy that after Dana got paid 400 Million that the fighters didn't mobilize. The sale of the UFC made a 9% share holder get more money than the networth of all the fighters combined even at this point
I can't believe that wasn't a tipping point as to the value of the UFC vs what the guys are getting paid.

CM making twitter noise as well, he said something interesting in that they keep offering him fights at different weights and fights that just don’t make any sense.
Someone made a good point, the UFC makes massive profits off of their arena sales, the fighters get none of the gate.
It sort of sounds like the UFC is purposefully screwing with bigger names at the moment in an effort to stall their fights in order to get the gate.
Might be true might not be. The other thing with Conor is the ufc probably do t care who he fights just that he fights because he’ll draw vs a broom. It’s better for them to have him fight a broom and make huge dollars from it then to fight a name that could have drawn separately in another event
Just thoughts

I wonder if we're seeing the effect of the ESPN deal on fighters' money talk. Doesn't make any difference for most fighters. But for the top draws they have less leverage than previously. UFC gets a guaranteed amount from ESPN for the PPVs but doesn't get all (much? any?) of the upside they used to be able to by selling more PPVs.

Was it common knowledge Connor got offered the Ferguson fight before Justin? I didn’t know but apparently he turned it down.

No, they told Conor he could be the replacement for Tony/Khabib if one of them pulls out, and he said he's not a replacement fighter.

Meh, he's right IMO. This is something Ariel talks about all the time. Like when a fighter falls out before a fight and the fans and promotion pressure them into taking a fight with a random guy with a completely different style on short notice.
You don't exactly see guys with any name at all in boxing doing stuff like that, especially not boxing superstars. I don't know why we hold MMA guys to different standards.

I can't remember if Susan has a Masvidal thread somewhere, if so, this belongs there:

Conor looking reallll thin in his new clip.
I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s trying for a 145 return
If he could make it to 145 and capture the belt, it pretty much puts his name back as the man.

That f*cking sucks. I was hoping he'd be in the clear after so long. My understanding is that he was a very positive influence amongst the young men in his local area.
RIP.
