I actually thought Demetri Goodson was still on the active roster.

I think we found out why he stuck around so long.

I'm shocked mostly because if he was this kind of student of the game, with his athletic profile, why was he never anything more than a gunner in the NFL?

Health played a role but he also got a late start being a basketball player first so some of the instincts needed at CB just might not have been there even if he was a student of the game.

What do scouts get paid? I'd guess it's not a huge amount. I'd also guess it's not the life for everyone. Like being a travelling sales rep. Lots of days and nights on the road, lots of meals at Applebee's, flights on regional commuter planes, or rentals of Toyota Camrys, filing scouting reports via your phone or laptop, etc.

How much do NFL scouts make?
The salary for an NFL scout ranges from $45,000 to $95,000, depending on experience and a successful track record. The director of an NFL team's scouting department can earn as much as $275,000.

The idea of comparing Lazard to Galloday as prospects is one of the most ludacris things I've seen all offseason

Maybe not as ridiculous as comparing that one guy on the team to Randy Moss

Looking at some of the advanced stats and this comparison is not as bad as I first thought. Golladay is really low on target separation. Lazard is actually much higher in that stat.

Seeing this coupled with the drafting of Dillon, I think it’s highly likely this is it for Jones in Green Bay, barring a really team friendly deal.

Cook is talking about a holdout for a better deal now. If he follows through, that's gotta hurt the Vikes some.

Actually looking at that list, the FA market is going to be so flooded, makes me think it is more likely Jones is back.

You have to wonder with Jones' good-vibe talk about an extension if there's some good-faith discussions going on. By comparison Cook's not happy, Henry got a Franchise tag with the theory of a hefty extension coming. With the general reluctance of GM's to pop for big 2nd contracts for RB's, and the COVID driven schedule chaos ahead, maybe Jones' and his agent cut bait and take a more sure thing in a good situation for him? Obviously, I've put on my very best green and gold goggles for that idea....

I hope you are right. Jones ability to line up as a wr and actually be a threat makes him more valuable than a lot of those guys.

Jones definitely should get the best deal he can. But I wouldn't mind him back if we get a reasonable agreement. Obviously nothing close to market-setting.

Yep, I am all for guys getting what they can when they can. I've said it before with Jones, there is one number where he stays healthy and plays well, and there is a significantly lower number if he gets injured.

I think the best thing is just tag him after this season and let him walk. A guy like Breida would be a more cost effective replacement that will give you a lot of the same big play ability as Jones

I just don’t see a reasonable way he’s back without it being at the expense of Bakhtiari or Clark, which I am categorically against in any scenario.
