I don't play RE games, but holy ****, this is gorgeous.

Was this part of the event? I didn't see this in summaries. Just popped up on YouTube.

Its crazy, but that Rachet game looked the most next gen most impressive game in the whole reveal to me. I said this on wolves board, but most of these games look like they could easily run on PS4, just a few games in this current gen really reached the limitations of the console I think and I wish we had few more years of this current gen. I am just salty cause I bought PS4 not that long ago, and really dont want to buy new console so relatively soon.
Are there any chance some of those games come out on PS4 as well, like Spiderman, first Spiderman was awesome.

So IGN gave The Last of Us 2 a 10/10, and I was wondering if they creator was blowing smoke when he said that some people will really hate the game.

Then I read the Kotaku review and whoooo boy, yup, that reviewer seemed to hate the game on a real legitimate level.

Eventually, my numbness turned to an anger I’ve never felt about a video game. Late one night, I paused the game and asked myself aloud if the developers thought I was stupid, if they thought the existence of violence had just never occurred to me before.

It's definitely an interesting perspective for me playing through the first Last of Us game given the 2nd one just came out. Still really enjoying it but it feels like Naughty Dog games are more polarizing than people want to admit. I think "story" can only carry a game so far if the actual gameplay isn't up to snuff, and I do find myself rolling my eyes on several occasions when I feel like they're trying way too hard to be overly depressing and nihilistic. But a lot of reviewers eat that stuff up because of the whole "video games should be treated as art" angle, so I think that in part fuels this kind of cult attitude of praise towards Naughty Dog games.

I have a lot of digital only games, but I think as long as there’s used game stores I’ll be buying the consoles with disks. I buy and sell so many used games.

I may go digital only as well. Only reason I'd consider the full console is for the 4k player in it but I already have one, so it would be kinda pointless.

I'm definitely getting the one that plays discs, if only because of backwards compatibility. The only thing that would give me pause is if the digital-only version has a larger HD in there, because about 90% of my games these days are digital, anyway.

This is one of my most anticipated games, and I decided to hold back until the reviews came in and in case they announce that they're remastering it for the PS5 as they did with TLOU and the PS4. I'm still in an ACNH groove, so I doubt I'll pick this up right away.

The reviews are heavily weighted towards being positive - overwhelmingly so - but I understand the critique of that Kotaku review. TLOU was an incredibly bleak experience in so many respects - there were several times I had to put it down and walk away because of how difficult it was to deal with some of the violence and horrific plot points. I'm not surprised that it's gotten worse in this iteration of the game, but I'm not sure it's enough to stop me from picking it up, eventually.

It's weird. Yea, overwhelmingly positive scores. But the next two reviews I read, one on Vice and one on Polygon were both similarly very negative. Coincidentally enough, none of those three sites give scores.

I completely agree with you on story can only carry you to a point, I say the same thing about Red Dead 2. I played first Uncharted, and man, that game doesnt hold up at all. All you do is third person shooting, then watch a cut scene, then shoot again, then watch cut scene again. I hated it,its one of those games where you can just watch a playtrough on youtube and you will miss nothing.

Last of Us at least had crafting, there was something to do in slow parts, and action was way better than in Uncharted. but overall, overrated? I really wasnt cool with that games ending, talk about a guy whose not a star trek fan, needs of the many outweight the needs of the few... He basically doomed the world. I wasnt following those leaks closely, but I understand why writers would make those characters into antagonists in the second game. And I know everyone loves Joel and Ellie and think Last of Us is a masterpiece, but man I am not cool with these people.

As for PS5, I'll get it eventually and with the disc. Just having the option is a must for me, especially when Amazon sells games for $15-20 and I buy for no real reason. However, I need all black. It looks awful. Probably wait until holiday 2021 to buy.

I only played maybe 40% of TLOU and then just watched Youtube vids to get to the finish. The combat got old. But I can say with 100% certainty that if I had nothing but this little surrogate daughter in my life I'd have done the same thing. Let the world burn, everyone else can go to hell, I'm saving that girl.

I get it from Joel's perspective, especially after what happened to his own daughter. And there was always a chance that they couldn't generate a vaccine from her - which I think is missing from this equation (they had apparently failed before).

But if I was Ellie and I found out that Joel made that choice, I'd feel guilty about it for the rest of my life. It would be almost unbearable.

I understand his motivation, but thats still screwed up. Argument is there that they might fail to create a vaccine, but its not like he only rejected and took her way, he killed like 20 people in the process, wtf man. I feel like Joel daughter's legacy became the fact humanity got no chance at repairing itself.

He effectively killed every person who got infected after that point. That's the most compelling and persuasive counterpoint.

I'm curious to see how they resolve that plot point. It's got to come up eventually if it hasn't already in the years between TLOU and TLOU2.

Yea, doesn’t matter who I’m murdering. If it’s the choice between a daughter and the entire population I’m choosing the former.

Never heard of this game/series, but this looks pretty cool. I love the art style. Adding it to my 'maybe'/wait for sale list.
