I mean, lets be honest— there are 13 teams that are tiers above the rest of the league. That means, right off the bat, 9 teams are joining the bubble with nothing to play for.

Of the top 13 teams, how many realistically have a chance at the title even if its remote? I’ve got maybe 4 in the East and maybe 4 in the West.

Just shrink the pool. Make the play in for seeds 3 and 4 and only amongst the top 6 in the East and top 7 in the West. Itll shrink the amount of people and the time in the bubble.

Needed the TV money and only way to do so is to meet the minimum number of games (whatever that may be).

I get it. But i also get members of the Suns or the Spurs preferring to not be in a bubble playing basketball for a month and a half
I think they have the option not to play, without being fined. They'll just lose the money for games they don't play.

I get that too, but then it looks like if a player chooses to sit then he won't get paid. And I personally agree.
If you gave them the option to sit home and get paid, they'd obviously take that.

Key component of NBA restart plans as cases surge in surrounding area:

Disney support staff, as of now, will NOT be subject to NBA's bubble protocols with daily testing/quarantine. They are free to go in and out of campus, per a Disney union official.

I think you may have made the counter point to all this working out. People HAVE just spent 3 months kinda locked down...who wants to keep doing this?

Double their pay?

Get to watch basketball on TV at least (if they care)

Or make them even potential far spectators (if they were to follow the bubble rule)

I really doubt nba players are dying to WATCH games. They want to go out into public. They're social creatures.

I meant the workers at Disney

They can go outside, in their campus/bubble

This is where you really show how committed you are

Someone like Lebron, Kawhi (I believe), and Giannis are 100% all in

Some players worried about it not being safe enough. Other players worried that the bubble rules are too restrictive. Everybody needs their voices to be heard but what happened to compromise?

Yeah, let's just let people who agree with you discuss this stuff.

The guy is NOT PLAYING

Who tf cares what he thinks

He is likely healthy and can play if he wants. I bet if KD was here, he would play. He is being a front runner

Either put up and play or shut up

Worst case scenario is the NBA caves on loosening the bubble, a player goes out and gets sick during the playoffs and they are forced to shut down. Hopefully the 'compromise' is that disney workers are bubbled and tested. If they do that, the players have zero leg to stand on from safety concerns. Probably would be safest place in the US. Hopefully the players that want more freedom realize they only get paid if this goes off without major hitches.

Wonder if they got buy-in from guys like Lebron, Giannis, Davis early. I bet those guys want to play at all costs for a shot at a ring. KL is a wild card. No idea what side he would be on.

Kyrie is VP of NBA Player's Association and is not cool with the bubble. CP3 is President and agreed to go ahead. Did these guys not talk to each other?

So many people have gone through so much suffering...Losing money, losing their business, etc. It's kind of ridiculous that players wouldnt be willing to deal with a little discomfort/isolation for 1-2 months.

Calm down, guy. Kyrie is trying to make sure that all sides are heard, not necessarily that the season is scrapped. He is a NBA PA VP, he's doing his part.

Kyrie has shown time and again that he doesn't have any leadership or accountability. He really should pipe down

If Kyrie and KD were healthy & playing, Kyrie would not be saying jack sh*t. He'd have absolutely no concerns with the season resuming. There is a reason why Kyrie is known as the most selfish player in the league. He's as self-centered as they come.

There's no need to antagonize Kyrie here (not that me saying anything will stop anyone from doing it). I would personally trust Kyrie more than Chris Paul, who's been called out for over-representing players in his tier. I'm sure Lebron, Kawhi, Giannis want to play. I'm also pretty confident that there are a few teammates on those teams that aren't speaking up so as to not distract from a championship push/be antagonized.

Focusing on the issue of not getting paid if you sit out is beside the point. We should be thinking about the stigma of sitting out, especially for more fringe NBA guys, and if they'll get opportunities in the future. The league is really small and everyone knows each other. Player opinions of other players carry a lot of weight.

How many tests? Because you know...context.

I understand them not wanting to play but they're also under contract we'll see what happens. The players thinking about not playing should take into account the league can go on without them.

Some NBA player should act like he's on the same boat as Kyrie & co. and get a link to the Zoom meeting.
Once he's on, note all 200 or whatever players in the call down and leak that list afterwards.
I guarantee you at least 70% of the names will be of players from teams out of the playoff race.

You can't bubble Disney workers. That makes absolutely no sense. They are not staying in a bubble 24/7 for 3 months. They have children and do not have millions.

I don't selfish, self-centered people would be out there protesting, using their social media platform to raise social awareness, and demand justice.
