Based on what?knickstape21 wrote:moocow007 wrote:Okongwu is more than just a rim runner. Much more. I'm not sure if folks have really watched him play a whole lot. Yes, he can run and dunk but he wouldn't be turning many teams and scouts on like Pam Anderson when she was still in her prime if all he was was a rim running athlete. From a pure skill, feel and fluidity standpoint he's better than Bam Adebayo and Mitch Robinson.
Could not disagree more.

IF? What is he waiting for? IF mitch Robinson can ever shoot 3's and create for others he'd be great.knickstape21 wrote:mpharris36 wrote:malik959 wrote:Like I said before, Haliburton put them clamps on Lewis, had them boys shook. Haliburton gives the same type of passing as Melo (not as flashy but same results), but gives better defense.
i like halibuton a lot, but you can't believe Haliburton breaks down a defense and sets up his teammates better than LaMelo. That is crazy talk.
Haliburton doesn't get into the paint. Which is fine it isn't his skill set but he doesn't have the advanced handle or burst to get into the paint. He gets his assets through the "flow" of the offense he is not a true shot creator.
He is more of that "traingle" style pg or secondary ball handler that can shoot it, make the right plays, and play good defense.
Agreed with you here.
But if he ever starts breaking people down off the dribble and hit pull up jumpers... look out.

I still think Wiseman ends up as the best player in this draft but believe that this won’t matter much to us Knick fans as long as our PG of choice pans out.

It doesn't make sense that they would take another guard when the D'Lo experiment failed. Pretty sure they are taking Wiseman if they have the chance. All they need is a big man and Wiseman is that. Not buying the smoke screens about Haliburton/Lamelo.. etc.

Knowing that Walt Perrin is all about BPA, it will be interesting to see if we will take Wiseman if we have the chance to draft him.
Here’s some new Wiseman workout footage. 2nd vid his jumper looks pretty clean. Click on the link

I won’t be surprised at all if Wiseman ends up being a KAT type of player but with defense. People forget that my guy Towns didn’t exactly show off the skills that he has right now back when he was in Kentucky.
What I want to see Wiseman improve on is his passing and playmaking skills. Right now I only see him as a finisher and scorer but eventually teams are going to double and even triple team him and he is going to have to make them pay for that.

We were both high on Edwards about a year ago but yes I share the same concerns.
If we end up with the number 3 pick and Wiseman and LaMelo were selected ahead of us I would explore trading Edwards to his hometown Hawks in exchange for their pick where we get the PG we like, as well as one of either Huerter, DeAndre Hunter or Reddish.

who are you and what did you do with Melo???
Edwards has a much more translatable shot (doesn't have a hitch). But yes the decision making and mental IQ for the game are questionable.
But dude has elite athleticism and quickness for the positoin. He has a great NBA body with size and strength and has a smooth high release jumper.
But the mental aspect is concerning for sure.
Thats the thing about this draft there is no perfect prospect.
