Just dropped on my YouTube. 10 minute Kira Lewis Jr prospect breakdown. I’m a huge Lewis fan, have him around 7th or 8th on my board. I get the defensive concerns but the kid has so many NBA skills that should translate seamlessly.

Decided to dig in to some James Wiseman tape since it seems like he's being overlooked and under-discussed.

@1:55 — Drills a spot-up jumper w/ great form.

@2:31 — Catches the ball in mid-range, takes a right-handed dribble, spins back to his left, and hits a contested fade-away.

VIDEO

@0:13 — Hits a one-legged Dirk shot going to his right, showing good touch and balance.

@0:49 — Hits a mid-range C&S jumper.

@1:18 — Brings the ball up the court and hits a step-back mid-range jumper over the extended arm of Carey Jr.

@2:23 — Hits a C&S mid-range jumper.

VIDEO

@0:16 — Pieces together some dribble moves into a OTD fade-away jump shot going to his left over McDaniels.

@0:30 — Shows off more of his handle package and puts McDaniels in a spin cycle to draw the foul but also shows how he wants to get back to his left-hand and isn't very comfortable with his right.

BONUS CLIP @1:45 — Not gonna spoil it. :lol:

VIDEO

@0:06 — Hits a mini-step-back jumper. Freeze @ 0:08 and look at where the ball is. :roll:

@0:29 — Catches ball right in post and drills a turnaround fadeaway J in front of Hardaway, Calipari, and others.

@0:21 to 0:28 — Displays his shot blocking prowess.

@0:43 — Blocks a shot with both hands.

Another very important Wiseman video to watch (start @ 2:02 and finish it!)

Shows solid footwork, good anticipation on blocking shots, and sliding technique on perimeter.

Man Cole Anthony reminds me a lot of Fred VanVleet. he's not a top 2 guy, but he will be a good top 3 scorer on your team.

Its probably because of the perception that franchise bigs don't win anymore but I feel he is being slept on big time. Unless its the opposite and people are so sure then why talk about it.

But anytime I hear nba players talk about him they seem totally impressed as if they already know hes gonna tear up the league. Looks like D. Robinson in every way and when that jumper develops its gonna be scary. He just needs a vet or retired great to mentor him. Help him make better decisions.

Saying he's going to be Robinson is just setting the bar way to high. Still, I think he will get draft high - I would strongly consider him at #1 overall for GSW...

PS. He doesn't look like D-Rob "in every way" to me - I don't see the agility...

Broke down Deni’s game from yesterday. Cut up every major possession on both offense and defense. The most notable part is that Deni just looked like he was playing at a different speed in the game. Was easily able to play at his own pace. Very impressive performance, especially in his first game back.

You may get mixed reviews on how people feel about video promotion but I gotta say I like it. You do a good job and hey its been a weird year. I'll watch any thing related to basketball right now.

Thanks man, appreciate it! Honestly it’s pretty much only been positive, so I’m grateful. I really try not to spam and I feel like the videos I’m putting out provide value and that’s what’s important to me.

Just noticing how well Bolmaro's stats compare with RJ Hampton's, though it's difficult to directly compare the different leagues they were in.

Carry on.

NOTES

Small sample size, but Bolmaro really struggled badly in his 6 games in Euroleague.
Looks like turnovers are a big issue with Bolmaro across the board.
Bolmaro doesn't project to be even a league average NBA shooter, IMO. Is fixable but I'm not buying the shot.
Bolmaro is a great passer and defender though.

Hampton really cut down on turnover percentage in NBL but it's likely due to lower usage and playing more of an off-ball role where he played almost exclusively on-ball at HS level.
Hampton is a pretty good rebounder for a guard.
I think Hampton probably projects as a slightly plus shooter at the next level but has more upside here.

TL;DR Hampton edges out Bolmaro due to scoring upside and elite speed/first step in open court.

Most people are going to jump on here and tell you he won't be available in the mid-20s. I think there's a chance he's available at 17, though.

Some people are really high on him. Some have him top 10. Others have him at 15-20 on their board.

I think Lewis Jr. would be interesting at 17 for the Celtics, but I'm not sure where he gets a bunch of developmental minutes being stuck behind Walker, Smart, Brown, and Langford.

I think one thing people need to think about when taking into account Desmond Bane's translation to the next level is the size difference.

Bane can get away with a lot versus smaller and less-skilled players at college level but I question how well he can defend off-ball versus bigger, stronger, quicker, smarter, and more skilled players.

Don't get me wrong. Bane is definitely not lacking in strength, but that advantage will be mitigated to some degree at the next level. He's also not the quickest guy and doesn't have the best footwork when moving side to side and that doesn't bode well against more athletic and skilled players on the wider NBA court.

He's a smart off-ball guy and really good team defender, sure. But he's going to be defending guards out on the wing most of the time so his POA defense, or lack thereof, is going to be magnified, in my opinion.

On the offensive side, he can definitely shoot it from deep and that seems like a skill that is certainly going to translate, but I'm not sure how much teams are going to count on Bane's off-ball shooting to contribute to the offense on a night in and night out basis. Like I said, he's not the quickest guy, so how fast is he getting around screens and how much space is he going to have to get off a shot with those short arms?

He also struggles to finish at the rim despite his strength due to his below average length. I think that also is a weakness that gets magnified in the NBA against longer and bigger players.

Overall, I just don't see many pathways to success for Bane. I think his high end outcome is a guy who can come in off the end of the bench and knock down some shots, and play-make a little, but overall, despite his defensive success in college, I still think he's going to be a liability on defense.

Comparing the two is comparing apples to oranges as Lewis Jr. is a lead guard and Quickley is more of a small 2.

But, overall, Lewis Jr. is miles better than Quickley as a prospect.

FWIW, I think there's a chance IQ goes undrafted.
