I read up a little on Hank. Seemed like a good man. I felt for what he went through as a kid with George. Then against it was George's dad who molded George into who he was. But it took its toll on Hank. RIP.

Back to baseball ...

First, I guess this delay shortens the time that you'll be without Cole and Paxton and whatever injuries you're dealing with. Second, you think we'll have baseball - without fans - in June? Just the players, coaches, training/medical staffs and the TV/radio crew upstairs.

These bat flips are down right disrespectful.

And MLB pitchers think they got it bad.

lol Chris Sale...the guy who cut his jersey to spite his team front office, defending the Astros.

I think there's gotta be some cheating going on with the Red Sox...looks like Verlander isn't the only hypocrite around.

Aaron Judge still hasn't swung a bat...

At least everyone else (other than Severino) is healthy. Paxton is busy working on spin rate and experimenting with his pitches. Stanton, Sanchez, and Andujar are all ready. Even Hicks is progressing what looks like to be ahead of schedule. German still owes 81 games no matter when the league starts.

Stanton is healthy?! Wrap him in bubble wrap and don't have him eat anything that can cause gas.

Wouldn't want him to fart and rupture his anus.

Hard for me to feel bad for the owners. Feels like most of them voted for the guy who disbanded the task force that was supposed to deal with these pandemics.

Hopefully Hal doesn't cheap out now theyre going with the 60 man (30+30) short season roster. The Yanks need to start signing up free agents to protect themselves against injury. With a 60 game season there is no hold serve until healthy. If someone goes down with a semi serious injury that could be it for the season for that guy and you need to be able to replace him and keep the steam rolling. 60 game season actually hurts the Yankees cause a hot streak becomes more important than the 162 game marathon where talent usually wins out.

Duffys a solid signing. Liked him when he was on the Rays.

Yes, provides insurance in the infield if god forbid injury/covid. We dont know how Andujar will be after the injury. A very fundamentally sound player with World Series experience, another veteran presence to have in the clubhouse or minor league camp.

New York Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka was drilled on the right side of the head by a Giancarlo Stanton line drive as he threw his first simulated game Saturday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

Did Stanton injure himself on the play?
That'll probably be tomorrow.

Good to hear Tanaka is in great spirits and is responsive after that. Holy f*ck that was scary... Who the hell put a hex on the Yankees with these injuries man...

Did anyone check this angle? Look how long it takes the ball to land after it bounces off his head. Scary stuff...

Not for fuggin' nuttin' but there are these contraptions called "Pitching Screens" that have been around since, um, I don't know, about 1955. I hear they're used to protect high priced starting pitchers from injury during batting practice and intra squad games during spring training.

:D
