Markannen is intriguing from a theoritical fit standpoint and I'm not saying I'd be against trading for him but should be noted Kelly was simply a better player than him last season.

I have to agree with Wilber, Markannen would be great, But as Week mentioned already, Oubre has been the better player this season. I'd do Oubre straight up for him, But in no way, shape or ffg form would I give up our pick AND Oubre too. That's just an unnecessary overpay given Markannens' current deficiencies. And this is coming from a big Markannen advocate too.

The 10 could still very well not us a premium cost controlled backup guard prospect, Or a 3 and D power forward from this draft. Affording us a larger chunk of cap space for free agency whilst filling roster needs too. Oubre for Markannen straight up, Or no deal. Unless, They're ( Chicago) willing to do Oubre/ Diallo/ 10th pick for Markannen/ 7th pick ??? 8-)

And also mention as a ***bonus:
Potential draft prospects and their respective tiers.

My feeling is they know we arent likely to make the playoffs so they dont want to risk a Oubre having a set back

I believe that's exactly why he isn't playing. There really is no point. This lets Cam get minutes.
I look at these 8 games as a way to see what we have. The practices and mini camp especially

There’s a real chance Cam shows out with big minutes in Orlando. I really like him, but I almost like him more as a trade chip. A lot of teams will be interested in a deadeye shooter with size on a rookie scale deal I can guarantee that. Not saying we should trade him (because we DESPERATELY need his shooting) but not ignoring the possibility.

If healthy I think we have a pretty decent lineup for Disneyland:

Rubio, Booker (maybe some Carter)
Booker, Bridges (maybe some Carter)
Bridges, Johnson
Saric, Kaminsky
Ayton, Baynes

Sure wish we had a play making combo guard off the bench to throw into the mix. Anyone still have Jamal Crawford's number? He's so old it's probably a landline...

Gambo reported that the Bulls would want Oubre and the pick. If Markkanen forces his way out I think a straight up deal gets it done. But they have changed over their front office so maybe they convince him to stay? Maybe they dont like him as much?

I'm not a Markkanen fan. He doesn't shoot well enough to have that rep and he doesnt defend the rim. He is in the 35th percentile in PSA (points per shot attempt). He doesnt block shots or get a lot of steals or deflections. 20th percentile in blocks.

I'm actually excited to see Carter a little bit. I think he can swing momentum with his defense. He can also shoot but he needs to do a little more on offense to get to an even or plus net rating. But I think he is close.

Eh so we’re basically tanking at the Orlando tournament too? Even though draft positions are already locked in (iirc).

Shutting down Oubre because they don’t want to risk injury is a tanking mentality and in that case, they might as well sit Booker and Ayton too because why risk injuries for “pointless” games then.

Oubre should’ve played, his meniscus was repaired in February and nearly all timelines allow a 4 month return (including when Eric Bledsoe returned for us a few years ago from the same injury).

We should at least go all out in Orlando, it’s the least the team can do after a disastrous of a season in which many of us thought we would be better than our record indicates. Sure Ayton suspension and plethora of injuries didn’t help matters but here’s a chance to build chemistry for next season with the team at basically full strength.

You know who gets blocks and steals? Kelly Oubre! If we can't pay the man, I'd rather watch him walk than commit to a downgrade.

I'm disappointed we won't get to see more of the Rubio Booker Bridges oubre ayton lineup. But I'm not someone who critizes players when it comes to returning from injury, I have no idea how the knee feels and if he's not ready then he shouldn't play.

I'd love to see Jerome look like he belongs out there. I haven't given up hope yet, but I'm famously slow to see the writing on our wall with our draft picks.

It'd be nice if one of Saric, Kaminsky or Baynes played well throughout the tourny. Give us something to think about before we go renouncing everyone.

Ideally, Cam, Bridges and Ayton ball out, allowing Devin to pick his battles. If the team falls completely flat, Booker will go off for sure. Booker averaging 40 and us winning less than 3 games is my worst-case scenario - aside from injuries, of course.

Just eye test wise I thought Jerome looked better the month or so before the shutdown. Early on it felt like he was still getting his body right after being hurt and was having a real 'oh **** these NBA dudes are athletic' moment. Hell always be behind the curve from an athletic standpoint so he absolutely needs to make quick decisions to offset that and not to oversimplify it but he HAS to shoot the 3 well to make it in the NBA.
