If we don't get a top 4 pick, I'd be most happy with Okongwu. He should fit well on our roster and provide space for our guards when driving in the post. I'm a little bit disappointed in his lack of assists but his defense should make up for that in fast break points.

What do we do about Center? There are some interesting, but flawed, young Centers on the free agent market this summer. Harry Giles, Jalil Okafor, Damian Jones. Serge Ibaka is also a UFA but not coming here. Do we really want any of these guys?

Many mock drafts have CHA selecting Onyeka Okongwu at 8, because of this dearth at Center. I am not going to be mad if he is the pick, but he is 6'9" the same size as Biz and this team is perennially undersized, especially at Center. What to do on nights where Embiid, etc come to town? He is also an "energy" guy - again, like Biz, and more of a defensive specialist - but teams overlooked Brendan Clarke as an "energy guy" last year, and Clarke is showing what a guy whose motor runs at a higher level can bring.

Wiseman is the best choice for our team if we win the lotto, but Okongwu isn't a bad consolation. You're right that he resembles Biz in some ways. The thing is Biz wouldn't even be that bad of a player if he had any offensive game at all. I'm watching videos of Okongwu running the floor, throwing up layups, and using post moves to get to the rim. Biz is lacking in all of those areas.

I'd rather Okongwu over Wiseman

Okongwu has spectacular hands in that video. His frame and peremiter potential remind me of a young Ibaka.

That said like Ibaka, he seems to be more of an old-school PF than a true C.

Today is the final day for the players to decide if they are going to remain in the draft.

I am no longer high on Leondro Bolmaro.

As of now these are the ONLY guys I am considering. My list is shrinking I think lol

Killian Hayes
Jalen Smith
Ayo Dosunmu
Isaiah Joe
Tyrell Terry
Tre Mann
Josh Green
Elijah Hughes
Malcolm Cazolon

I dropped both gach out because I think he is returning to school

PICK 1 - Killian Hayes / PICK 2 - Elijah Hughes / PICK 3 - Kaleb Wesson

or

PICK 1 - Jalen Smith / PICK 2 - Ayo Dosunmu / PICK 3 - Isaiah Joe

I'm liking what I see out of Killian Hayes. That athleticism is going to really transfer over to the NBA, similar to how Donovan Mitchell was able to contribute right away.

Jalen Smith just doesn't really do it for me. I'm seeing some red flags here. He doesn't like to put the ball on the floor so that's going to hurt when we don't have any strong playmakers. He'd be fighting for playing time with PJ, who has already shown to be a strong contributor who we can play big minutes.

I am not super HIGH on Jalen Smith but I like him (if we were to trade back and get some picks). I think he is a better option at say 15 (with a future first rounder thrown in) than Wiseman without.

I also like that he has improved his game statistically all accross the board. He is now a good shooter, good floor runner and good defender. He doesn't put the ball on the floor well but he is a Center at the end of the day so not so much looking forward to him doing that... I doubt we will feel we "missed out" on something with Jalen but with that pick(s) thrown in I think we might. I see Wiseman as a bust and I think I think Okongwu loves playing downlow too much for my liking without the size nor real threat from 3.

I really like Ayo Dosunmu and Isaiah Joe. I cannot decide who I want more between them. I think they are both low key stars and franchise changers

Kupchak said on the radio they've been preparing for the draft as if it was still on schedule. He said he meets regularly with our international scouts and that they've had over 20 interviews with prospects. The organization isn't wasting the extra time they have to prepare, so that's good news. He also reiterated that the team needs more talent and that we won't draft for need.

It sounds like we could try to move up and grab an international player like Hayes. Given the hints and knowing kupchak he is aggressive. I would rather trade back since this draft has deep talent but if we trade up I wouldn't mind doing so for Hayes. I hope we don't package pick 8 and pick 32. I would rather pick 8 and pick 56.

Unlike the past few drafts the team is now positioned to make moves. There is a realistic possibility of moving up or moving back. I don't think we will attack picks to move up though.

For the first time I think I would consider drafting all three players of the same position. (they so happen to be 3 of my 5 favorite in this draft so why not lol)

PICK 8 - Killian Hayes

PICK 32 - Ayo Dosunmu

PICK 56 - Isaiah Joe

Or Tre Mann in the place of one of the 3 above.

If this were to happen I would be just about as happy as I was when we drafted Kobe

I just read that the NBA DRAFT will be held October 16th

Players have until August 17th to withdraw. Wow so weird. Summer league might be in december lmao

That means I am not sure when the start of the season will be. I would think they would still want a strong hold on CHRISTMAS DAY.

I decided to add Leandro Balmoro back with the players I am considering. Given that Ayo Dosunmu and Isaiah Joe should
be available at pick 32 I might as well draft a projected higher player with my first pick (I would trade back to do so)

PICK 1 - Killian Hayes, Leandro Bolmaro, and Maaaybe Jaden Mcdaniels

PICK 2 - Ayo Dosunmu, Isiah Joe, Elijah Hughes, Josh Green, Tre Mann

PICK 3 - Still open to a lot of players here

I like Josh Green but I do not think he will be a star but I think he is a player that will fill a void at the SF position.
He doesn't do anything the HURT your team.

I have been meaning to do a DEPTH CHART this year. (something I haven't really done yet) maybe I will before weekend is out...
