With everything going on, a lot of players are reluctant to come back and play. You can see both sides. At the end of the day, it is just a game.

I'm in the minority. No fan basketball is going to be so lame. Whole atmosphere is going to be nonexistent. No homecourt advantage. Playoffs are gonna feel like summer league. Not a fan of watching a watered down NBA. I'm not that desperate to watch basketball.

You may not be in the minority about this situation being lame. But lame or not (and you may be right about it being watered down basketball as well), it doesn't matter. It's unprecedented. It sucks but it has to happen and it will happen. Too much money is at stake. That's a fact.

How much will depth be a factor in the bubble? Remember, no HCA. No travel coming off 3 months to get healthy? Brad could fast break right into playoff mode from the start and choose to go with a tidy 8 man rotation. Barring injury or COVID, concerns about bench depth could be minimal.

Thoughts?

Bulpett's article finally explains the Tatum situation.
-- Tatum paid for insurance against injury ahead of his first huge contract.
-- (Such insurance is expensive.)
-- The insurance expired June 30.
-- If games are to be played after June 30, new insurance needs to be bought and paid for, and Tatum doesn't think he should have to pay for it.
-- (Donovan Mitchell is in exactly the same boat, as perhaps are others.)

I'm guessing Tatum is in the right, as it seems that the league is asking nicely that the players follow this weird schedule, rather than ordering them to do so.

Depth at the Top 8, will be paramount.
But, you also have to keep a 9th-10th (maybe even and 11th) player in a not-to-rusty shape. Just in case.

After that, it may not matter as much. UNLESS, we get hit with the COVID-19 to several key players.
Smart, does offer us some insurance. As he's already had it, and unlikely to get it again, during the Bubble.

You always want those extra guys. PJ Brown made a big difference. We wished that Scal were a better player when Sheed ran out of gas. And long ago there as that guy on the triple overtime game vs. Phoenix.

That said, the Cs' presumed core playoff rotation starts:
-- Walker and Smart
-- Tatum, Hayward and Brown
-- 2 or 3 of Theis, RobWill and Kanter
-- 1 other guy who isn't a center (Grant Williams, Semi or whoever)

And then they also have Wanamaker and so on.

The real weaknesses in that story are Grant-or-Semi and the "so on" after Wanamaker.

So basically we need one of Grant or Semi to step up, plus either the other one or somebody like Langford.

And while I don't know their exact situations, I HOPE some of those guys found ways to work on their shots.

100% agree with this.

Spanish Basketball League has resumed in Valencia in a same "bubble" fashion.

No-fan basketball is unwatchable. Like it's horrendous. You had Barça and Madrid playing and it looked like a friendly August match.

Soccer is at least watchable (the fans aren't that close the the field and usually are not a big part of the broadcast view), as I assume football is going to be too.

Watched a video on tacko fall being a factor which if implemented could work I'm speaking of a 7th max to 10th player if lead is more than 10.
Another bubble kinda thing is edwarfs gets hot.
Same thing 7th through 10th rotation. Is it plausible one game impact I think so. I also believe this is a young man's kinda tourney style to the ring. Brad is gifted in that realm and we have a young ass team. Kemba wants one so **** bad I can taste it. Barring say 2 covid case per team lenacy I say eastern conference Champs is legit and a punches chance at beating clippers. Ubuntu 2
Brown's #1 fan on this forum.
