Those people were largely wearing masks, as long as we continue to make masks necessary in public spaces we'll be good. The problem will be people coming from other states that don't want to wear masks.
No, just look at china. Everyone wears masks, the socialist government is a futuristic police state where hd cameras are everywhere, the goverment tracks cell phones, the goverment has tracking on national ids (required to have one), and even they cant controll it.
Its gonna be like the spanish flu... its the new norm for the next few years.

There are more countries in Asia than China, you say to look at them, and I can say look at South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Malaysia etc. All of them have stopped Covid dead in it's tracks through testing and mask wearing, even with their proximity to China they were able to do it without draconian measures. The bulk of their containment comes from mask wearing, some of these countries are 3rd world, but they already stressed wearing masks in public so it never hit them that hard. There are roughly 460 million people in Japan, Thailand and Indonesia, they have around 70,000 cases and 3500 deaths between them with 100 million more people than the US, it's pretty easy to see how they did it at this point. Thailand went so hard with masks they were arresting foreign tourists who weren't wearing them after they stressed wearing cloth masks in public.

All anyone has to do is compare our numbers to California's from April 15th till now, our curve is on the down slope while theirs is spiking now. I picked April 15th because that is the day mask wearing in NY became mandatory, while California is setting new daily highs in cases, they just now made mask wearing mandatory last week.
