Well the Heat trade didn’t happen because they only wanted to extend him for 1 season at the same-ish money, and Miami wanted to do one year tops because they too want Giannis. It would be the same conversation here, he wants years. He’ll have to get his money somewhere else. Too bad, I likes me some Gallo and I always have.

If pascal’s passing improves he could be a really good piece to have on the floor with him when you look at his ability to shoot the 3 but lebron will be all over him. He’s exactly the type of player Lebron would want. Bron always likes to surround himself with shooters even if they’re not good defensively. He always makes those players look even better. He always likes that pure shooter and Gallinari fits that role on the Lakers.

It solely depends on whether Masai thinks Giannis is available. As long as there is a chance, I don't think Masai is going to do anything to jeopardize his 2021 cap space.

Meh, good player, but his injury concerns are too much to gamble on as this point IMO. If hes really cheap, sure, bring him in as a role player as long as we don't rely on him having to be healthy.

I would say right now, we have just as good a chance to sign Giannis as we did with Kawhi; Mil 50%, Tor 20%, LAL, 10%, Other 20%.

Just win 3 championships in a row and I would put Toronto at 75% to sign Giannis. :lol:

I think most free agents are going to go back to their incumbent team as everyone's cap space shrinks. OKC might be rebuilding but Presti isn't an idiot. Gallinari on a 2-3 year deal is worth more to him in a trade then cap space would be. If they really want to tank and get a better draft position they should move Paul, which is hard to do because of his contract. Gallinari isn't really going to move the dial one way or another though.

Gallinari is worth more than the mid level. If he leaves OKC looking for a mid level style contract (Which could be in the $5-6M range) with his injury history, I'd be surprised.

As for the Raptors, their priority IMO should be to bring back Marc and Serge. They are more valuable than Gallinari would be. Great scorer but he plays Pascal's position.

This guy averaged literally 41 games per season over his career. He will get injured – guaranteed, and that's not a load management issue, the guy's just straight-up made of glass. You don't roll the dice on that when cap space is so valuable.

I like him, but too old and costly. I think just throwing Siakam at SF more while playing Ibaka and Gasol together is a more flexible and effective option.

I feel like a Gallinari signing could end up being a DMC repeat.
The current front office leans more towards untapped/underrated players or one year reclamation projects.
If Gallanari didn’t have injury concerns, it would be a slam dunk but the list is long.
2year with a team option on a 3rd is the longest contract I would offer.
I wonder if players will go for term over dollars with the uncertainty of today?
What new insurance stipulations will contracts have going forward?

I love his game. But I would never bench OG just bc of Gallo. We have 4 potential scorers in the line up and with og a huge defender on the 3. Exactly that position with the most skilled players offensively. That's a great balance why disrupt it for Gallo? Just bc he can score buckets? He would fit perfectly as a 2nd 6th man next to Ibaka. Someone I also want to stay. And I believe he will. I think he's a man that sticks to his word.

pass. as others have said, age, health, cost are factors that work against him and you don't overpay for the downward slope of a player's career. this is how you get suckered into horford-like contracts!

You don't get Gallinari for a good amount of $$$. Sure he's 32, but he still has a decent name in the league. Just because he is underrated by fans don't get it twisted...

He puts up numbers when he is healthy.

He has a player option for $9 million. Maybe he should accept it and wait for 1 big contract next summer? I would offer him the MLE for 4 years despite not being a good rebounder.
