Raptors fans have really polluted this board with an air of condescension, haven't they?

Both Miami and Toronto will have cap space to sign him to a max contract using the projected salary cap of $125 and might have room for two max players if they trade some players. The cap could also drop due to the coronavirus. To the people who are saying that we have no shot at Giannis and he would rather go to Toronto, which option looks better:

Toronto with Siakam, Powell(PO), OG(QO), Hernandez, Thomas, 2020 draft pick : Around $55 million total with $70 million in cap space

Or

Miami: Butler, Bam(QO), Nunn(low bird right), Herro, Robinson(low bird right), Okpala, Silva, 2020 draft pick: Around $64 million total with $61 million in cap space.

With Miami the lineup could look like this:

C: Bam(24)
PF: Giannis(27)
SF: Butler(32)
SG: Robinson(27)
PG: Nunn(26) or Herro(22)

6th man: Nunn or Herro
2020 draft pick
Silva
Okpala
And $20M left over

That’s if we don’t develop a random guy or two again into a productive NBA player next season

2. If dipo's injuries aren't a concern, yeah sure he's a top 25 players so sure he's a max guy.
3. Butler with those two would be beyond unfair for the league. That team would win a title on their defensive ability alone if they can fill in the rest of the roster.

That' like saying that the if the Raptors get Giannis, their defensive team can take down anyone. I say, being a raptor fan, if Giannis and that's a BIG "if" can somehow join the Raptors with Norm Powell / Pascal Siakam / Marc Gasol / Serge Ibaka / Fred Van Vleet and Kyle Lowry on the say team - come on - that's a crazy lineup defensively.

Also, if the Lakers can get Giannis, the same applies, they were trying to get Kawhi not too long ago.

Also, don't know that Dipo tips the scales..I would take Bradley Beal from Washington over Dipo anyday..

They should let Jimmy Butler walk so they have space for both. Oladipo and Butler is overkill.

But why Zooey Daschanel? She's an average girl.

I proposed a deal where Miami sends Butler to GS, GS sends their top 3 pick to Miami, and the Minny pick to Chic, along with Wiggins and Looney (salary). Chi sends Porter Jr to Miami, along with something else (not sure how to balance the value)

GS gets a perfect win-now SF in Butler, and dumps Wiggins' deal
Chi gets a nice pick, and adds a SF who plays everyday. I highly doubt our chances in 2021 FA. With the new cap situation coming, Wiggins' deal becomes worse-but he does produce

Miami ends up with a core of Dunn, Herro and Bam, plus let's say Ball in this draft. They would then have 2 max FA spots in the summer of 2021. Porter might help them win games in 2020-21 (his contract year) since I know Riley doesn't want to tank

No thanks. Butler stays with Miami and that would send a bad message to any free agents who would consider signing with Miami.

I absolutely love the super confident Buck fans in here, reminds me of how most of us Orlando fans felt about Dwight prior to the madness.

Enjoy this feeling.....for now.

Really depends on if butler is or isn't ok with the deal.

Maybe there's a real chance Miami or Toronto lands Giannis, maybe not. Who knows, we're still a year away from any decisions. But I think Miami and Toronto will shoot themselves in the foot if they try too hard to recruit him behind the scenes. Giannis seems like the type to be turned off by a competitor trying to recruit him and most impressed by Miami or Toronto giving the Bucks a tough series.

I really hope not. I don’t believe in Dipo. He’s been majorly hurt for multiple seasons. He had one good year. We already know how this story goes

Not only that but it just would be way out of character since he's a family & team first type of guy, Giannis isn't going to force a trade because he wants to go clubbing or play movie producer in a bigger market nor is he going to walk in free agency on some whim. Think of Giannis along the lines of Tim Duncan, nobody ever speculated about him wanting to leave San Antonio to play in LA or NYC why is that? With the Bucks Giannis has the best chance to win and will make significantly more money; he's got a top 5 coach & Pop disciple, it's a fun locker room where the guys seem to genuinely like each other, he's basically grown up here the last 8 years along with his family. He's also ultra competitive and makes a point of not working out with other current NBA stars, he didn't come up in this buddy buddy banana boat AAU system. Giannis actually wants to beat the other team! He did work out with Kobe the last couple years in the offseason after he retired, that's the kind of competitive guy Giannis is.

It was more than a good year. He was an absolute clutch superstar. If McMillan has him on the floor more in the 4th, they might've sent Bron packing in the first round. Even if he's 75% of that, he'd be the perfect complement to grandpa Bron and AD.

Yeah I am very high on Dipo gives me Paul George, Leonard vibes when everyone was doubting hating them.
If Miami has to choose beteween Dipo, Butler, Dipo bc hes younger and more versatile with better defense.
