Two Phoenix Suns players have tested positive for coronavirus, sources have informed The Arizona Republic.

The positive tests led to Suns temporarily shutting down voluntary workouts at Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum, sources say.

Mikal Bridges, Elie Okobo, Frank Kaminsky III, Dario Saric, Jevon Carter, Aron Baynes, Jalen Lecque and Cheick Diallo have participated in them based on a video the team posted earlier this month in their "Don't Sleep on Basketball" series.

The players were having workouts at the arena Tuesday morning.

Agree with you play-in is a waste of time but it's more of a way of getting players in shape for playoffs rather. LeBron said a few months ago he estimated it would take around 6 games and 1 month for guys to get back into the swing of things. This was the NBA's way of heeding the advice of players and appeasing teams that want a shot at a playoff spot.

The "seeding games" as the NBA calls it is ALSO a ton about money. These scheduled games will allow most teams to meet their regional sports network contracts meaning they'll get a ton of money. These games are going to minimize the amount of money that players have/could have lost because of some of these lost games.

It's not a ton about money, it's entirely about money. This entire restart is ALL about money. Doesn't take a genius to recognize that.

It's a complete mess. I don't have faith in the NHL or NBA starting this up properly but I definitely have less faith in the NBA. NHL may have some common sense and host the thing in Canada. Although as a resident of the GTA, I don't want to see it being hosted here. I think there's a few in the same boat.

Thinking about the scheduling with now all major sports coming back, its gonna be a mess.

It may seem irrational because Kawahi is the best player in the playoffs IMO, but somehow Lebron always has our money.

What a bizarre situation. Raptors are down in Florida holding camp and there is complete media silence and likely zero info will come out. Even if someone tests positive we may not hear a word and if we do it is likely just a number of people. This is after all, personal health info. I guess just pretend no news is good news at this point as results from first round of testing are likely already back. I listened to a podcast that mentioned that the kind of tests they are using for this give results in a few hours...
