Raps getting new uniforms for the 2021 season

Why do people always make that comparison? Besides being a different type of dinosaur, Barney isn't even the same color as the Raptors logo, so how is it Barney? That they're both dinosaurs? That's stupid.

I mean it's really busy, and while I get the intention - the original raps logo is better imo.

That's cool. I like it but see the busy problem with the design. What if they just used the head of more accurate version? I think it would be way better than the torn basketball but I could be wrong.

I’m open to trying something new. I just haven’t seen anything that has really pulled on me. I’m a big fan of minimal branding (think shake shack) and while I acknowledge that isn’t the best fit, that’s where my heart is. For context, I like Fred van vleet’s logo a lot, and how he incorporated it into things like his track jacket. I do like the idea of a chevron, but I’m holding out any judgement until I see what they have in store.

A for effort, F for execution. If you're going bird, go straight arc'teryx. Something minimal, interesting and less like a cartoon character.

I may be wrong but did the Raptors just preview the new logo at the end of this video. It goes through all the logos and after the current one, it ends with a modified original logo.

Sorry if It seems I keep adding my concepts to this post. But with curiosity ( and for the fun of it ), I thought about what direction the Raps will go. So i'd tried with this:



For the logo, they mentioned a "tweak". So imo, I think its going to be a re-colour. Maybe add purple? Or go full gold and black? I'd be okay if they went black and gold. Its different from the other teams and they would stand out. They've also used a combination of there retro design on the city edition ( with Toronto ) and, went back to there old school retro nights during the past season. So I figured why not make a combination of both? Use the black and gold colour scheme and combine it with the Raps retro look. A minor addition with the "North" shorts and the city edition to it and this is the concept I came up with.

The Black/Red (also would've been my last year's choice for the finals) ones are the best ones actually but they don't wear them often. Didn't expect a new change this soon. The last modification, 5 years ago, was huge and necessary.

seems like any and everybody can come up with better designs than the people they’re paying big money to design for them but then again it’s them thats having the final say and I can just imagine a room filled with old heads.

I didn't know if that bird dinosaur thing was a bird or a dinosaur haha. Most of these redesigns suck. The current uniforms are too bland and boring, I hope they move in the direction opposite of that.
