Well, say what you want about him, but he's sure not dumb. He was likely looking at a paycut before, and with the cap shrinking, there is no way someone was going to offer him that type of money.

I always thought that this team was the fit. I think that a Wiggins/Drummond swap would work well for both sides plus making drafting Edwards easier with Wiggins gone.

I always thought that would be a good trade as well.

Drummond opting in was no surprise at all. So glad Pistons are not paying that salary next year.

Why does Cleveland do this though? Unless they get a bunch of picks in the deal as well? Wiggins is signed for 2 more guaranteed years after Drummond leaves. He's been a net negative everywhere he has been.

I mean, if they are planning on tanking hard for the next three years straight then I guess the deal (with picks) would be ideal though...

Edit: I just took a look at who is on their roster and with Kevin Love still signed for 3 years so maybe this makes perfect sense; again only if picks are added though.

Am I crazy to think GS would be more interested in trading for Love than Drummond??

Considering at one point Klay for Love was so close to happening I'd agree with you.

Love/Wiggins swap probably works as well. It’s already happened once.

He's the enemy now. As long as he doesn't play winning basketball, I hope he stays in our conference.

We should allow Eddie to enjoy his retirement peacefully. No more hypothetical ‘come out of retirement’ contract predictions.
