Idc if Trae is your best player or not on a team. The dude is a stud either way and a lot of doubted him to be this good right now. I’m pretty sure everyone here would love to have him as our PG rn. I sure would

We were picking 9th and everyone knew Trae would be long gone before 9. It didnt really make sense for him to even be in the poll.

That wasn’t the poll question though. It was who would you pick if they were available in our range. Not much people liked Trae. Ask HEZI, he was one of the few Trae fans.

I remember. But Knicks were either going to move into the top 3 or pick 9 or lower....then we ended up 9th. He was never really in our range so i think that caused a lot of people to not have much interest....I do agree, that a lot of people were anti-Trae. But a lot of others probably didnt even care or at least look more into players in our range.

Picking 9th? It was really the Knicks own fault. We screwed ourselves. Most likely it'll happen again and we will end up picking 7th or 8th... Wiseman will be long gone....probably Hayes too. We are probably better off debating Kira vs Cole vs Haliburton or something.

A lot of us didn’t like Trae even at 9. I remember. The Trae hate went was long before we knew we were gonna be picking at 9.

I suggested that we make a poll with Kira vs Cole and Haliburton before we started the big board. That should be interesting. Who would you go with in that scenario

We will find out soon enough. Cole and Kira will probably be up at the same time as soon as a few more of the top names come off the board.

That one is close. Maybe Haliburton, Kira, then Cole? Around that range it gets tough and I am not really sold on anyone so go back and forth. Haliburton has been pretty steady for me but just depends if i like someone that can jump in front of him. What do you think on that one?

Haliburton isn’t a PG guys. Maybe he is if your 2 guard is like Oladipo, but he’s not a pure point.

Deni improving his stock might sway a lot of votes. Can’t blame them cause he does look good

My personal preference for PG rankings (partially influenced based off of how I think they’d fit our young core) would be 1) LaMelo 2) Hayes 3) Tyrell Terry 4) Kira Lewis 5) Haliburton 6) Cole Anthony

Deni is my #4 mainly because I am huge on Mitch and I think Deni could be a really nice fit with our roster. Plus I think if the shot pans out, he’ll be a very good player in today’s NBA (I doubt star but very solid). Wiseman might have more star potential and has probably significantly more upside on offense than Mitch (have a hard time buying the workout clips... I hope his offense develops though). The thing with Wiseman is his defense kind of scares me. I don’t think he’ll be horrible on that end, I think he’ll be a good rim protector once he stops leaving his feet early like a lot of young bigs. His feet are suspect though on defense. That being said I wouldn’t be shocked if 5 years down the line he’s the best or top 2 player out of this class

Yea, he is more of a glue player that can do a little of everything and be more of a secondary facilitator. I just love the combination of skills where i think he can be a really valuable player even if hes not a star. He may even have sneaky upside. Would be ok with that if we didn't move up or get Hayes.

Nah, I'm down with Kira, too. I think you got this one right. The strength thing is legit and probably affecting his finishing and defense, but he's really young, he has the skills (especially shooting), and he's willing to defend.

I don't want - and we don't need - someone who's going to pound the rock for 15 seconds either. We already have DSJ. Here's the test: Who would San Antonio pick if they had our pick?

DSJ pounds the ball 15 seconds we suck
Frank pounds the ball 5 seconds we suck

Hailburton is good if you keep him locked within his role of being catch and shoot 3 point shooter, ball mover and defender. The rest of his game is very dubious for a starting point guard & 2 free throw attempts in 36MPG of action with low scoring output is pretty alarming, also take into account this is as a Sophmore.

Image

The fact he doesn't get to the line to go along with average to below average on ball creativity skills excluding pick and rolls is kind of a turn off. he screams solid role player that can be a elite role player in the right system with a winning formula.

i wouldnt mind him because this draft is booty and theres really no telling who turns out to be what so he is one of the safer picks and still brings some traits the knicks could still use like the 3 point shooting and defense but i got guys like lamelo, hayes & deni easily ahead of him if were talking overall talent and potential

im not sure what terry will be in the NBA i kind of see him playing a seth curry like role but with more room to grow as a playmaker.

Would definitely take him at 27 if he's on board.. wouldnt mind trading up for him either if he's reachable
