I will never understand why Trier was underutilized this season after his surprising rookie campaign. They couldn’t waive Ellington or Payton? Trier is young and has skills. He was a RFA too. You could have let him walk if the money was too high or bring him back and trade him later. I don’t get this move.

Kid must have some major character issues if two separate head coaches were okay with playing bum azz Wayne Ellington over him.

Can he shoot? He was a nice facilitator at UNC on the wing but there’s a reason he went so late in the draft (was he undrafted?). Unless he’s a shooter or facilitator on the wing not sure what he brings..

On a team like ours that struggled to score a lot a guy like Trier should be able to eventually carve out a role. I’m surprised.

Any CEO of any corporation is going to build the best team he/she can -- and they will almost always go with people they know over people they don't know. This is nothing new. Besides, who says Pinson was acquired to actually play? His value is likely higher than Trier's so he might be made available in a future trade.
