Can he shoot? He was a nice facilitator at UNC on the wing but there’s a reason he went so late in the draft (was he undrafted?). Unless he’s a shooter or facilitator on the wing not sure what he brings..

Sounds like his limited numbers as a pro (shooting) are subpar at best. His G-League numbers for shooting are significantly better (as you’d hope).

G League this year - 42 FG% 37 3P% 76% FT
G League career - 44 FG% 38 3P% 83% FT
NBA- 30 FG% 21 3P% 89.5% FT

The biggest sample size by far is the G-League career numbers but obviously needs to be taken with a grain of salt since it is the G-league

Any CEO of any corporation is going to build the best team he/she can -- and they will almost always go with people they know over people they don't know. This is nothing new. Besides, who says Pinson was acquired to actually play? His value is likely higher than Trier's so he might be made available in a future trade.

FYI: With our new regime, we are likely going to see lots of personnel changes over the next few months. Don't let yourself get bogged down in evaluating every single trade based on skill. This front office will very likely acquire a lot of talent they never intend to play -- but they do intend to trade. Or, in other words, the names on our current roster are not necessarily the names you will see on opening night.

I would cut DSJ over Trier in two seconds. But Trier doesn't have guarunteed money DSJ does. And I believe they are hoping to trade DSJ for something of value. Why else call him a "special talent" when all reports are they are looking to draft a PG.
