This. It takes time to recover from covid, if you're not asymptomatic. He isn't going to be 100% in two weeks time, and he'll have also missed out on a good chunk of training camp. Factor in the congested schedule of Orlando bubble, and it makes perfect sense from a health perspective to skip this joke of a season.

I had Covid in March and I was 100% in 2 weeks. Not saying everyone is the same, but this guy is in way better physical shape than me and has way better health care/supervision than I do. I was working out at my house and riding my bike maybe 5 days after I first felt symptoms. If he really wants to play he can make it happen. Notice how Dinwiddie hasnt ruled himself out yet?

That's great for you. But Gobert has already came out and said he still can't smell, and had "what felt like ants inside of his toes", so unless your a doctor that a specialist on the matter, I would refrain against telling a person how their body feels like when or after covid.

PS: I think I had it March and felt like absolute dog**** for a about a month. Made an appointment for the Eliza test but the Walgreen I went to hadn't even built the lab (Lapcorp) yet so I was SOL.

Anyone know the draft pick scenario if the nets don't make the playoffs?

I did doesn't make what I said any less true. I'm happy you recovered fully but you aren't his physician and don't know how his feeling. Also he cannot workout for 14 days from being diagnose with any kind of symptoms. If he even coughs in the doctors office from smoking weed he'll be quarantined even longer. So he'll be hella out of shape by the time the season restarts. It ain't like they are winning the NBA finals. Like you said everyone is different. Stay safe and healthy.

CP3 tried to make Blake and Deandre tough but they hated him for it. Same is true for Harden.

You can't make lazy players hustle by nagging them all the time. Poor strategy.

Scalabrine wrote:Option A: this is a knee-jerk reaction on his part. After the initial shock and emotions, he'll realize that after being sick and recovering, the team will still not be in Orlando and he will have the anti-bodies already so the risk of re-infection is much smaller.

Option B: He already didn't want to go in the first place. He has a long-term deal, he has enough money, and he's not motivated to ramp up and get back into game shape to go play in this bubble environment for the 7th seeded Nets who are already without their 2 best players and have pretty much thrown in the towel on the season since before it even started (at least Kyrie/KD and probably him).

He can still play if he wants too. It won't make a major difference either way and if anything Allen and Claxton will get some more run to show what they can do. I have a feeling Claxton is gonna prove he's worth those minutes too. Per 36 of 13/8.5/3.1 and plays with a ton of energy.

Nets are a clown show, with Dinwiddle and Irving. And I guess they should run away from wherever they currently are, if the Nets keep getting infected. Not sure why Posters are calling Players' cowards after they decide to sit out after being infected. :-?

Both Dinwiddie and Jordan seem to emphasize how they were brought back to New York and then were infected so it makes me think they are displeased that the training camp was held in New York. They were considering moving it. I wonder where they were staying before returning and the amount of covid in the community where they were vs. New York now. This could cause future tension between Nets players and their organization. Hope they both make a full recovery and no one else on the Nets get infected.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Dude, he also has asthma and has had pneumonia on multiple occasions during his career.
He may have other underlying health issues we don't know about either.

Am I the only one who thinks all players testing positive are from lower-seeded teams who weren't going to get anywhere anyway. You're not seeing Lakers, Clippers, Raptors, Bucks testing positive. I call BS, these players using COVID as an excuse to just sit out.

Neither of them played a significant part in any protest that I know of.

However, Dinwiddie did just come back from his home in San Antonio, which became a coronavirus hotspot when their governor followed Trumps asinine demands to recklessly open.

They keep their lottery pick this year which could be as high as 11 based on how the other teams perform.

Dinwiddie was in Texas so the smart money is he got it before or during his flight back to NYC.

Yup, just like COVID itself this all a conspiracy.

I mean, I'm sure Lakers and Clipper player are testing positive left and right, but they are willing to let them play with COVID so they can win a title, possibly taking out the opposition along the way. Meanwhile, all these Nets are actually negative, but they are inflating the #s intentionally to make the pandemic look worse and get greater funding to NYS. Cuomo is in on this too.

The severity of Covid is highly variable and not really dependent on how physically fit you are. :noway:

Dude is gonna make $200m in his career for a couple rebounds and dunks. Why risk his life - he has documented asthma - over another mil? Definitely doesn't belong there. Wouldn't be surprised to see him on the injured list this fall.

That sounds pretty scary no?
Isn't COVID-19 especially dangerous to people with asthma/pneumonia?
