Kevin Knox: keep him or not?
Rumor is out that the Knicks are giving up on 20 year old Kevin Knox. I personally agree but would hate to be wrong so maybe keeping him one more year to really evaluate him.
Thoughts?

How about a second round pick? I would wait a year and if he doesn’t show up then do it.

For a first get rid of him, for a second just keep him.

Re: Kevin Knox: keep him or not?
There really is no harm in keeping him for another year. He's coming off one of the worst years any player can possibly have. His timid nature is a big concern as is his apparent lack of defensive awareness, but there's no point in just dumping him. If he doesn't workout then he goes the way of many former 1st round picks that don't pan out...he'll end up in Europe or Australia or somewhere and probably look a lot better playing against lesser competition.

When I read the options and saw first round pick I was like..I didn't know he had that much value. If so then thats my option.

Re: Kevin Knox: keep him or not?
I dont want to trade him because i fear his value is Very low. But If you could get a late First or using himb to move up from 27pick to 15-20 range or including him on a package to trade for a good player in a Fair Deal, i would do It.

I say keep him. Frank went from bad to improved over time. It just takes time and the Knicks did Knox no favors.

Re: Kevin Knox: keep him or not?
Besides, Knox is a relative expensive flier. I think it Will be tough to find a tem who want to taken his 5m contract with the salary cap drop, considering his lack If productivity.. A late First woulb be a cheaper contract too.

Re: Kevin Knox: keep him or not?
This is nonsense. A) he is not that bad and B) typically you don't get players better than him in the second round. While he obviously wasn't a very good lottery pick, he would still be a top 10-20 player in the NBA among all active second round picks (meaning that you shouldn't deal him for a second rounder).

Re: Kevin Knox: keep him or not?
He didnt have a good adaptation in NBA game after 2 seasons, his salary is relative High, and he was a reach and a misjudgement from the start (should be drafted after 15th). I think we could find a player with similar potential with a late pfirst pick.

Re: Kevin Knox: keep him or not?
kevin knox is 20 years old. people wylin. if we are supposed to care about development, we should be a lot more patient with young players who were EXPECTED to be projects.
that's the whole issue with taking young guys. it's often going to take the entire rookie scale deal to know what you've got. some guys hit the ground running as teenagers, but that's a lot to ask. some NBA careers are slow burns (see: kyle lowry).

i agree he was a reach, but also he was arguably the most talented/highest potential available at that point. i get the idea of swinging for the fences in terms of talent. people like me who wanted mikal were being more conservative and seeking high floor contribution. (though i even warmed up on kev as the draft got closer.) some of us were intrigued by SGA, but i can't recall too many who saw his massive glow up coming. i actually remember people feeling "too many franks" back then when his name came up.

my question is...is it worth it to draft a slow burn player ? they almost never end up staying with the team that drafted them because after 4 years that team doesn't want to pay them and has run out of patience trying to develop them. knox might figure it out but it probably won't be here unless he does it soon.

Re: Kevin Knox: keep him or not?
I think there are 2 diferent things: 1) to give up Knox for nothing or some little valued Second round pick and 2) to opt for later first player who May have more or equal potential.
