We need nba action. Those guys will be fine.

Maybe you do in your dull life, but I see no benefit in trying to salvage this season, only unnecessary risks. I would've just waited to see of next season starts up like normal, and I would enjoy the NBA possibly back quickly as possible with a normal environment. Now we have to deal with possibly a clusterf*** of a Summer League NBA Season, that will also push the date back of next Season even further. I want the NBA back, but not like this.

Don’t know why you would attack me unnecessarily, I don’t think I am alone in wanting the league back, it sounds like most people are excited for it to come back.. The nba knows more than you and they’ve concluded that they can properly monitor and enforce social distancing as well as constantly test to make it as safe as possible for the players.

With the concerns raised by by both players and Disney workers, it’s fair to be constructively critical of how the NBA is handling things. The NBA is working hard, but they’ve also shown that they’re being motivated by the TV contract money and it’s causing them to have somewhat of a blindside to their plans to restart the season. Constructive criticisms at this point are very valid. Just as valid as us fans expressing excitement to have basketball back in a month.

The NBA like MLSE only care about money. It’s irresponsible of them to put players lives at risk in one of the worst state’s for covid 19 in the US because they want that TV money. If guys like Lebron weren’t so desperate to be at the level of Kobe and Jordan at all cost (in terms of championships won) they would sit out but there’s still lots of time for them to do so eventually. I would not be shocked if they’re forced to **** down that state again.

Don’t fool yourself as to why they rushed to reopen that state! Strings are being pulled that you don’t see!!

Big money are being made there which means open up boys

It made sense at the time of the decision to have the NBA in Orlando but it no longer makes sense. If NBA truly cared about player safety they'd do this somewhere else. Doesn't make sense to still have it in Orlando. NBA has 5 weeks to correct ship.

I really think rushing back to play TV studio basketball borders on reality TV. I agree w the poster. See ya next season just like a labour stoppage. Do not risk players health. Somebody could get permanently damaged.

You mean blindspot and I agree. Terrible location. Why not Hawaii?

Probably due to timezone. 6 hours behind EST so hard to cram all those games in for TV audience.

Other islands near main land US likely don't have training facilities.

NBA should consider bubble location somewhere else but based on what Silver said a few days ago, seems like NBA is sticking with Orlando barring a catastrophe.

Regular folks are going to work. My father has been working non stop because he counts as an essential worker and my mother has been called back to work for over a month. Some of my friends fall in the same boat. I don’t see how having NBA players in a bubble which should be safer than just being outside is that bad.

If one of us regular folks gets sick, we don't show up to work and quarantine for 14 days. If an NBA player gets sick, he may potentially infect other players who may in turn get sick. Sick NBA Player A must quarantine and more than likely will be ineligible for the rest of the season. I'm sure you can appreciate how quickly this can turn into a messy situation, right? In the Russian Premier League, one of the teams a week ago had to field a team full of 16 year olds because their main team all had to be quarantined. Imagine if 3 guys break curfew, get sick, then infect their teammates in a practice. Wtf then? lol.

I don't know if there's a clear cut argument for either side here.

If the bubble is executed well it should be fairly safe. Yeah there's still a chance but it would likely be really small.

However, you can also argue to just scrap the season but for the players and owners there's a lot of $$ on the line.

I think it makes sense for everyone - players, fans, owners, media – to try. Cancelling the season outright offers no benefits to anyone.

If it actually works it will be a huge success. If it doesn't, which is no doubt a real possibility - well, so be it. It's not realistically going to make anything worse so why get so upset about giving it a try with a reasonably cautious plan?

The NBA's given players the option to play or not play. If they feel unsafe they dont go...easy peasy..stop pissing and moaning about the nba restarting...better yet ..dont watch in protest..we'll see if you last.

They should have chosen Toronto. Probably has the lowest rate of COVID vs any state.

Plus wearing a mask here probably isn't as political as it is in the US.

Trudeau will never allow that to happen, even then, don't think its safe to bring that many Americans here

also the virus isn't going away anytime soon, especially in America. If you cancel the 19-20 season then you'd also have to cancel the 20-21 season because the virus problem will still be there, and it could be worst if there is no single location bubble

even if there is a vaccine developed in late 2020 do you really think all 400 players will be willing to be injected with it? I doubt it.
