There’s a lot of players testing positive. America is in bad shape.

Incredible the leverage of negative and racist overtones comments like this have, while I have never once heard them for first responders, officers, UPS workers, bartenders, casino employees, cashiers, etc etc (you know, the non financial elite who actually have to work). All of which being at significantly higher risk to both contracting covid and having employees who are at far higher susceptibility to danger from it.
Narratives of the disengenous must be so **** hard to manage.

Why aren't the new Orleans team not releasing names? I don't want these dudes infecting my squad!

Man, this is getting out of control. They really need to just shut it down and cancel the resumption. It seems like everyday someone else is positive. You can 100% guarantee if they resume multiple players will test positive in Orlando.

Re: List: Covid19-Bois
Are any players severely ill? Aren't they actually having no symptoms or mild symptoms and then recovering?
Why do you guys treat positive tests as a death sentence? Why do you have such a pessimistic outlook in general when it comes to COVID?
It seems like you guys start by assuming the worst and then refuse to consider any positive outlooks.
Whereas shouldn't we start from an objective, blank slate and let the evidence guide us?
If guys are testing positive, and then recovering (almost) 100% of the time, isn't there some good news there? But you don't ever talk about that.

"But did you die, though" is the worst bro-science defense of transmission and infection of a virus, which can result in long term organ damage (lungs, kidneys, liver, pancreas, brain, and heart) and stroke for its survivors. There are too many unknowns about the lasting impacts of the virus to brush infection aside. Many survivors report, "not being right" even after the disease runs its course. Marginalizing the deaths of 128k+ Americans is also just as bad.
Not only that, this is also a PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUE.
A young, healthy person may not be at great risk from dying or having severe complications from the virus... But they are now a threat to eventually passing it on to someone who WILL be at risk, if they're not quarantining.
Thank God they're all maintaining social distance and clear of Covid. Plan is working great.
Rest assure, the NBA +Covid tests are a microcosm of society at large (and like society at large, the positive numbers are still laughably understated). These guys are not even part of the work force and dozens upon dozens of them have it (Zach Lowe had a laugh at the number of players he knew of that were not reported on a recent pod). The actual workforce have all been exposed. Despite positive tests flying through the roof (hint to those paying literally zero attention... testing is finally through the roof), the average age of death of a Covid patient is still around 80 years old.
But hey, who am I to step in front of the freight train of science.
Fixed that for you.
And for those of us who are truly paying attention, we know that the percentage of people who are getting tested who are testing positive is increasing. But please, keep spewing your Faux news talking points about how we medical professionals are just boogeymanning a virus that has killed over 100k people in 4 months.
Numbers rule the universe.

Need to bubble the elderly coaching staff and player’s parents from the players.

I know right? Other than Rudy Gobert's continuing sensory issues (which seem to be improving), I haven't heard of any remotely negative outcomes among any NBA players testing positive.
Yes, they can spread it to more vulnerable people, that is definitely a concern. Yes, their potentially could be long-term effects that we're unaware of. But if a player is getting little to no symptoms with an active infection, I find it hard to believe that there is a high chance of long-term complications.
People should stay as safe as possible, I know I certainly am, but I wish we could all take a more objective approach instead of a fear based one.

How dense are you? Asymptotic workers like those in the NBA are now being mass tested. They don't know they have Covid because it does not effect them, but their workplace demands it.
Hence a mass increase in positive tests, mass decrease in average +Covid age, and no mass increase in deaths. Does this compute at all?

It computes just fine. You and your "COVID-19 isn't that dangerous" lot belong in the same pile as "flat-earthers", "moon landing deniers", "anti-vaxxers", and "climate change deniers". Just as those other clowns don't know what they're talking about, neither do you.

incredible. No numbers. No nuance. Just blind hate with irrational and hilariously ironic inclusions. You don't know what is up from down mate.
We are **** doomed if your ilk runs the narrative. I stopped watching cable TV years ago, but is this the CNN crowd?

It's not hate, it's 40 years of dealing with the pseudoscience crowd (like yourself), has taught me rational discussions with y'all are futile. Critical thinking eludes your types... And that's the real reason we're doomed.

Just completely abondoning the discussion and cowarding to some apparent dark memories of your past.
This is what I'm dealing with. Alright. You are ignored. Moving on.
I grew up in Northern California in a liberal family, studied poli-sci/admin/business during university and can't even have a coherent discussion with many of you. Think about that for a moment. Where do you think actual conservatives stand on many of these issues? How far off base do you realize you are?
Your ignorance mixed with your arrogance is going to get the Crown-Fool that is Trump re-elected and you don't even comprehend this. YOU are the issue.

and 43% of those were nursing home related. and about 85% are over the age of 65.
its funny though that many of the posters in this thread kvetching about the covid threat are over in the current affairs board fluffing their pompoms over sweaty mosh pits of drug addict protesters.
the current rise, i am sure, has nothing to do with the mosh pit of college kids keeping it real by idolizing junkie life for a weekend on their electric skateboard and then heading back to their privileged life on the cul de sac.

I'm hostile because I look like Tom Brady and I've never been let off by an officer once in my **** life. I watched the Hawks fail to play-action in the Super-Bowl 3 times in a row from jail. I learned from my (VERY MINOR) mistakes and dominated ever since. I'm SICK of excuses. I want action from the black community in the form of raising their children. Period. That is where your community begins. And I am absolutely sick of listening to this dialogue until this is brought up as the paramount issue in black culture.
I will gladly donate to this cause, and I think it will hopefully bring America much tighter.
